Friendly authentic skate park. No frills, it is what it is (which is great). Super friendly kids in there every time we have been. Don't think they take any nonsense and it shows. In the 1960’s a purpose built hall was constructed that provides a venue for new bands and has hosted performances by the likes Wishbone Ash, Motorhead, Argent, Shikari and TrashBoat. In 1991 an old warehouse (next door) was converted into a skate park and Pioneer became home to the oldest indoor skate park in the UK - it has both an indoor and outdoor skate area and has the pro skater Rod Clarke as a trustee of the charity. Well worth checking out if you are into skateboarding or live music.…
