Amazing free facility
Jun 2019 • Couples
Recently revamped and opened this facility is easily the best free one in Hereford.
Staff are polite, well informed and helpful.
Online reservation of books is brilliant.
Exhibitions are good - the latest Lego one bringing in loads of people to see it which is not only good for the library but the city as well.

Pleasant, but unfocused
May 2019 • Family
We visited to see the Lego exhibits, which my young son enjoyed. On the plus side, some friendly staff and a range of different objects in the exhibits. My son really liked the bees! On the down side, the museum seemed... unfocused. I couldn't quite determine what story it was trying to tell about Hereford - a bit more design would have added significantly to its impact.

Two-faced cow covered in Bees
Oct 2018
The Two-faced cow and the glass apiary covered in Bees are not the only highlights. they have a wonderful collection of Alfred Watkins early photographs and paraphenalia in the basement. Nice photos shame about the leys.
If you go up to the cattery outside Risbury you can see the place where he had his 'numinous' experience observing the laylines criss-crossing the scenery. I digress, great museum as idiosynchratic as the rest of 'The Shire'.

Lovely museum
Mar 2018 • Couples
We came on here to look at the museum which shows local history. There was an interesting section on the woolly mammoth and a tusk which had been found locally. One of the rooms was showing local stories from the Great War, very sad.
Its very well laid out and informative, worth a visit if you are passing

A fairly standard public library
Oct 2017 • Solo
This library occupies the ground and a mezzanine floor of a beautiful building that also houses the pleasant local history museum. The library itself appeared comfortable and well stocked with books. There were computers and some kind of information place in the entrance - like a CAB maybe.

Lighter space now
Apr 2017 • Couples
Newly refurbished & opened the library now has a lighter feel to it with space utilised better than before, partly by reducing the housing around the lift. Lots of ambitious plans going forward for this building so will be intriguing to see what comes to fruition.

Quite a cool location. Let's you borrow books. Has a museum with a two headed cow a wasps nest and a Roman mosaic. Its free bargain. You can also get CDs and vhs cassettes.

Great library but has been closed
Dec 2015 • Family
This library has been closed for a year due to the discovery of asbestos in the building. Doesn't seem to be any work being done so disappointed that it has not reopened.

Friendly Staff
Jan 2016 • Couples
Found within a very attractive old building, not too far from Hereford Cathedral, we found this to be a nice, quaint, fairly small library, with very friendly and helpful staff.

It's closed for an unspecified period
Jan 2016 • Couples
We were hoping to do some family history research, but the library and museum were closed following the discovery of asbestos in the building. Tourist information seemed to have closed for good as well!
