Cheese shop and cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. Definitely worth paying £3.50 for the tour. Our guide was both informative and enthusiastic and went through the whole process from milk to mature cheese. It tastes fantastic too

The shop has a extensive range of cheeses plus other local produce such a pickles and jams. After buying some lovely presents for friends and family we sat outside and had some a coffee... More

Small but beautifully formed family business which has helped revive local cheese production. We were treated to an exclusive tour by an enthusiastic young cheese maker who had to stop occasionally to check the process at crucial points in the process - life at the coalface. I have seen cheese making before but it was lovely to see this cottage... More

A brilliant place for a lunch time snack. The soup and homemade bread with some cheese always goes down well. Pleasant indoors and also a lovely outside garden area for sunny days. Plenty of interesting jams and juices to take home for your friends. A really pleasant place to spend an hour after a morning shopping or at the sale... More

Spent the morning at the Monkland Cheese Dairy. i found this to be an interesting event. we were given a good demonstration on making cheese and how it is flavoured and aged. This is certainly worth a visit.

Been on several tours of food and drink places but this was head and shoulders above the rest. Yes they are a very small outfit, but this allows a very personal experience (especially when more than ten of us were all crammed into a cheese fridge together!). They also managed to explain in a way that people of all ages... More
