Took my mom there for a birthday lunch, we sat in the garden in the sun. I had a blue cheese ploughmans and my mom a normal one, both were lovely and really generous portions, when we had finished they bagged up the leftover cheese for us to take home. They were very helpful and lovely to my young son... More

This was a very interesting place, we were able to go around all the cheese making area and learned quite a lot we never knew about cheese making for £3 it was tremendous value, after which we had a small snack although the menu was very good and all fresh local produce. Lovely jolly people.

I had a cheese making experience day given to me as a birthday gift recently and went today. Absolutely worth the early start & 2 hour drive from Bristol. The day started with a very friendly welcome from Karen, the owner, and a run through of health & safety matters and hygiene do's & don'ts. After donning wellies & rubber... More

We visited on a day where there were no tours (tours are on certain days when they make the cheese) but as there was a large group of us and we had travelled quite far we were very pleased to take them up on their offer of a tour/talk of the diary. The lady who showed us around is one... More

We were a large walking group of 25. The manager had been advised we would be calling in. When we arrived one lady was extremely rude stating we were half an hour early and to go and sit outside. Another lady came out and put cups and saucers in front us without even asking whether we wanted a hot or... More

Turning up a short country lane you see a small wooden cabin surrounded by a lovely garden. On entering the small but well stocked cafe come shop we were greeted with a smile and welcoming Hello! We were left to taste several cheeses whilst it was checked to see when the next tour started. Whilst we waited, folks came in... More

This is a small cheese dairy which produces its own specialist cheeses. They only make cheese three mornings a week, so go on a Monday, Wednesday or Friday morning for the best tours. We arrived about 10.30 and did a tour with the very pleasant lady owner. Thus was numerous and informative. The process had started with the milk delivery... More

Not massive. Personal touch in cafe & with the tour. Pleasant atmosphere from the staff. Good description of cheese making, with interaction . Shame it's not vegetarian :(

Nice to visit, and sample local cheeses. Would have been nice to have a tour of the back and see how the cheese was made.

Visited Monkland Cheese whilst on hols in the area. Audra, who explained everything was brilliant - you need to go on a Wednesday to see her though. She covered every aspect of the processes used at the dairy, and then took us through to taste the produce. Cost was £3 - absolute bargain!
