A genuine tudor timbered house, preserved in great detail, free to enter and fascinating to explore inside, wonky floors, wall painting preserved, and period furniture give you a real feel of the old place as it must have been, a great little freebie on a wet day in Hereford.

This old wonky building is preserved and run by the local council. It’s free entry and must be worth anyone’s time to have look at what housing for a (presumably) wealthy merchant was like back in the 1600’s. Particularly amazed by the amount of light in the bedroom upstairs as we understand glass was a real status symbol back then.... More

I loved this place. It is a 16th century house set up to be more or less as it was when new.It has old furniture, old paintings, old pots & pans, beds, plates and such like. You are free to wander about and have a look just as if visiting somebody's house. Great.

We came across this amazing building in the middle of a modern town centre by surprise. The kids loved climbing all the stairs and seeing all the great artefacts, many of which they could touch and there were lots of interactive things for them to do. The whole house is a real treasure trove of 'things' and the volunteers there... More

A small museum in the city centre with a range of period furniture and household objects. An interesting way to pass an hour or so.

If you want real living history or just a glimpse of what life was like in Hereford then look no further than the Old House or as the locals say the black and white house. Well worth a visit and you would be surprised how many locals haven't visited either. It is as some other tripadvisor has said - a... More

Beautiful black and white house in the middle of the high street shops. Free entry, helpful and friendly guides and such an interesting interior.

Build in 1621, The Old House has had many owners, starting out as a butchers I believe. The Staff and volunteers are very helpful, it's is furnished with old English period furniture. And situated in the heart of Hereford town centre. It's will well worth calling in, it's free and very interesting. Mike
