Created as the perfect house in the perfect setting, Berrington has many secrets to uncover. Here in one of Henry Holland’s first houses, you can explore the family rooms and walk in the servants’ footsteps down the back stairs, moving around the house unseen by the family and guests. You will find out what happened to William Kemp, LordCawley’s butler, and discover the anguish of a grieving mother during the First World War. Alternatively why not join a below-stairs tour to see if you would have liked being a servant at Berrington?

We've lived in Leominster all of our life but have never been to Berrington hall we used our passes this weekend and what a lovely surprise!! The gardens we gorgeous and the grounds well looked after and the play area looks new kept the kids entertained so we had a picnic too. The house was lovely and my daughter enjoyed... More

Lovely setting but the angle you approach the house from does not show it at its best; the front is far more attractive. Good walks through extensive grounds. House still being rennovated with new displays awaited upstairs. Tearoom ok but limited choice.

Visited here recently and house was really very interesting with a fascinating history. Particularly interesting is the conducted tour 'below stairs' around the servants quarters. The guide was very knowledgeable and really involved our party he was taking around. There are extensive parklands to explore (but best on a nice dry sunny day though). A nice cafe with all manner... We visited just before Christmas over a weekend of celebrations. The rooms are interesting and the grounds quite spectacular - even on a bleak December day! The visit was made infinitely more memorable by a wonderful display by dancers from the Avoncroft museum. They explained the dances and how the people in the household received their tuition - even getting... More

Went for a walk around the house and walled garden on a crisp day, nice house and grounds and wider grounds looked really nice but a bit too wet to venture by the lake. Views from the house are great and plan to go back in the spring/summer

My wife, 3 year old son and I has recently been given a National Trust membership for a Christmas present, Berrington Hall is right on our door step so we couldn't wait to explore. This time it was only a short trip as the weather turned grey. However the grounds looks lovely and the gardens would be lovely in Spring... More

Interesting house and excellent tour of 'below stairs' led by a Welsh lady which was appropriate for the area. The gardens were great especially the walled garden.

We always enjoy our time at Berrington Hall. The Hall is in great condition and the gardens are lovely too. We enjoy going for a long walk with our dog, then having a cup of tea. It's a great, fun day out in a serene setting.

Visited Berrington Hall on Apple Weekend, so joined a very informative talk & walk around the Orchards and learnt all about how to prune fruit trees properly and much more. The entertainment on this special weekend was great and lots of local producers & craft stalls from which to buy food & gifts. The café here is fabulous and the... More

We arrived just as soon as the Hall had opened and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. A wander through the Capability Brown park down to the lake and back, a look in the Walled Garden, a lovely hot cup of tea in the cafe and then a visit to the Hall itself. Joined the delightful Jane Austen ladies dancing in the... More
