Very nice place to dwell a while and relax in the sunshine: small but perfectly maintained - a credit to those who look after the garden throughout the year.

I went into the gardens soon after opening on a lovely sunny morning. The gardens are immaculately maintained and a real credit to the gardeners. There is a feeling of peace in the gardens and had I had longer in the city I would have spent more time here. Certainly a required visit after seeing King Alfred.

Lovely gardens to sit in or walk round that are located near to the city centre and bus station. You can but ice creams and there are public toilets. A pleasant rest on a busy day

Pretty city park gardens on the walk from the Statue of Alfred the Great to Winchester Cathedral. Stopped off to use the toilets, and finish our lunch in the Abbey Gardens. Very neat and tidy gardens, pretty with the flowers coming into bloom. Lots of benches. Interesting weir / pump at the back of the gardens on the stream. Recommended if you happen to be in Winchester, for a quiet walk.
