Handlebars cafe is a welcome addition. You can park nearby in the park and rid as the St Catherine's Hill car park is tiny. Walk along a path into town or vice versa. It's lovely but maybe not quite as nice as Old Sarum in Salisbury all things considered.

We walked up this hill from a side carpark and descended down the many steps so we could walk back along the river. Beautiful area and exceptional views from the top which is well worth the effort. There is livestock around so be careful with dogs but there is plenty of space

Lovely views of Winchester and surrounding areas. Choose a clear day and you can see for miles. Research the hill before you go and learn about the miz maze. Proper footwear (walking/hiking boots) is advised as some of the paths are very uneven and slippery. The steepest route
