Up the hill to the Great Hall pushing a wheelchair was worth the effort! Received a very cheery reception with admission being by a voluntary donation. The Round Table is enormous, you can read the facts and figures on a banner nearby. Also of interest is the pair of gates/doors given for the wedding of Prince Charles to Lady Diana.... More

I think it is a real shame that we lost Winchester Castle - it would have been really something. All that is left is this small hall, and while it is quite interesting it doesn't feel as historical as it should. The hall itself is fantastic and the round table is interesting, but of course it isn't actually King Arthur's.... More

This experience was made by the helpful and extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic young student, We didn't go right into the other area where you pay an entrance fee only because we were rushed for time.

Well worth visiting this, not only a round table but beautiful Charles and Diana gates. There are clothes and activities for children as well. Don't forget to look at the garden as well

The great hall is a beautiful historic and architecural site to behold. It brings alive the subject of mediviel history. Oh, and king Arthur's round table crowns a visit to the great hall. A top of the "to do list" must see.

The Round Table actually exists - but not in the way most of us know about. Winchester has lots of history since it used to be the capital.

Very interesting place to visit. Entrance is by donation. The history that has taken place in and around this venue is fascinating. The history that oozes out of this place is fantastic. The 13th century Great Hall is certainly worth the visit. The Roundtable hanging up high nearly 800 years old. There has even been a trial in 1973 of... More

It's a very impressive building and worth an hour of anyone's time. We had not seen the long gallery before, and that was heated! There is a lot oif history in this building, it's worth taking time to read the guide book.
