I live in Winchester and the Great Hall is my favourite building. Wonderful ambience and beautiful architecture. The famous round table hangs up high on the wall. And don't miss the recreated medieval garden at the back. Admission is free!

Great place to visit as part of a day out to Winchester. The story of the round table captured the kids imagination (aged from 2-11!) and it wasn't too busy, so nice and easy visit. There are decent toilets and Queen Eleanor's Garden is small but pretty!

For several hundred years the Great Hall was the only significant bit of Winchester Castle on view but recent excavations have revealed and preserved some more interesting bits. So after seeing the Round Table don't miss the other foundations, walls and dungeon which also provide a start of the walk back down the hill.

Had great expectations visiting this location, but for me it turned out in a bit of a dissapointment. I expected to find a lot of historic items inside. The great hall is mainly empty. On one of the walls you will find King Arthurs round table. However the Great Hall and surrounding buildings are beautiful and worth the visit if you... More

Edward recreated King Arthur's Round Table, and it is hanging on the wall with all the knights recorded. Sir Walter Raleigh tried there, as it also served as the local courts until recently. A grand hall with a huge sculpture of Queen Victoria.

We spent 15 minutes on a passing visit here. Very impressive hall and vaulted ceiling. It is free entry with a suggested donation.

It's fake, but still very impressive :) Entrance is free although donations are welcome. Opposite the Table you can admire fantastic gate doors! Actually I was more impressed by the gate than the Table :D The little garden on the side is average though. Nothing special.. Overall very good experience!
