Our 140-acre park is home to an incredible range of exotic and endangered species, in beautiful, landscaped surroundings. Just by visiting Marwell Zoo (owned and operated by conservation charity, Marwell Wildlife) you'll be making a big contribution to our projects to conserve species and habitats, both here in Hampshire and around the world. Our biggest ever exhibit is now open - Wild Explorers an immersive new home for our rhinos, scimitar horned oryx and Grevy's zebras. These are all species we have special responsibility for in the wild. Our £15-£19 adult entry fee varies across the year and includes a voluntary donation of around 10%. Please check our website for full ticket prices.

Good zoo with lots of land.

Lots of land and animals, worth a visit. Animals sometime hide away when hot but I guess that's the same for all zoo's

An open and attractive site. We visited on a hot summer's day. The animals were clearly uncomfortable with the heat. Many animals sheltered in their 'homes', a few - for example the tiger - lay lethargically in the shade, and a few were lively, for example some of the lemurs and the mongooses. The general - and understandable - lethargy... More

I have kept my annual membership with the zoo as I enjoy myself overtime I go Everytime I visit I get different photos of the animals to add to my collection. Each time I visited we walked round the zoo twice so that we get to see all the animals. Some animals hide different times of the days. The gift... More

This is a great little Zoo, right from the minute you arrive the atmosphere is low key and certainly not commercial. The animals all are well cared for and I think the information boards are just right. The layout is good for walking around, well spaced cafe and toilets and enclosures. The tractor train was very popular on the day... More

It is a tough balancing act for any Zoo, the animals must come first and gawking humans like myself second, however was really disappointed with my visit today withe the numbers of animals who were either moving enclosure or with the vet in conjunction with the scorching weather today where numerous animals were taking refuge in the shade. It is... More

Family day out was planned to go to this zoo. Having gone there a few years ago my expectations were low. I was surprised at the improvements made since the last visit and the various animals present. The habitats of the residents were well maintained and spacious with the handlers experienced. The highlight of the trip was of the leopard... More

On our way home from a camping trip, we decided to stop in at Marwell Zoo to round the trip off. Someone on the campsite said they had been recently and seen very few animals, but we thought what the heck, sure there will be plenty to see. Have to say that it was quite a disappointing visit. We too... More

It's been years since I visited Marwell (probably around 13 years!) My son visited on a school trip last year and has wanted us to visit as a family ever since so we agreed along with taking the grandparents as well. Absolute great day! We arrive and I got our son an annual pass as he is autistic and loves... More

Once your're through the gate you need £2 if you want a guide book which has a map.£2.50 each for a train ride. Take a picnic as food in these places always costs an arm and a leg. Don't go when it's too hot, all the animals are sleeping and out of sight! Most of the cages were empty or... More
