Having just completed this 90 minute walk and tour, id like to thank Lyndsey and Alex for an extreamly interesting and entertaining tour. We visited all the medieval houses and also went into some vaults. which are not open to the public normally. History came alive as they told us tales of previous owners and invasions. If you are thinking of doing this tour, you will love it. Thank you ladies once again.

There is so much hidden history in Southampton, hidden underground in vaults and in buildings. This walking tour was fascinating and we learnt many fascinating facts about the old medieval town. Our guide was very friendly and answered all our questions. I would definitely recommend it to anyone with even a slight interest in history. It was also great value at only £5.50 per person for 90 minutes.

We went on the first twighlight walk of the year on a Sunday evening. I’ve been living here for about 5 years and really wanted to understand more about Southampton’s long history. We learned so much and Dave was a brilliant guide. Facts, Informative and humour were abundant. A couple of surprises which I won’t mention as I don’t want to spoil the surprise. The walk takes around an hour and half and well worth it. It’s also given me an appreciation of Southampton’s important history.

A highly enjoyable and informative walk, during which our 2 guides talked knowledgeably about what happened in Southampton during the war, with a particular emphasis on the blitz that occurred in late November 1940. For me, one of the most fascinating aspects of the walk was discovering a wall, close to the centre of the city, on which American GIs - waiting to embark for Normandy just before D-Day in 1944 - had scrawled their names, along with the US cities and towns they had come from. A number of these etchings are still visible.
