About
Nuffield Southampton Theatres (NST) is one of the UK’s leading professional theatre companies, commissioning, developing and producing fresh, vital experiences through theatre. NST has developed a profile and reputation for innovation and quality delivering work on a national and international scale, taking work to London and Dubai, whilst acting as a major cultural force for good in the city of Southampton. In February 2018, NST opened a second venue in Southampton’s city centre, NST City, with the world premiere of Howard Brenton’s The Shadow Factory. NST City includes a flexible 450 seat main house theatre, a 133 seat studio, screening facilities, rehearsal and workshop spaces. NST runs the new city centre venue alongside its existing theatre, NST Campus, on the University of Southampton’s Highfield Campus. NST remains equally committed to both venues.

Very good evening’s entertainment and she did really well for a one woman show of that length of time.Well worth the ticket price.

We went to the NST Campus to see Sir Ranulph Fiennes: Living Dangerously. The show as great and the theatre and staff very good too. Enough Loos for the women as well!

Visited recently to watch Jamali Maddix, great venue inside the centre of Southampton. Modern and relaxed, minor draw back was the leg room inside the Studio room additionally the bar service a little chaotic.

Wonderful theatre designed by Basil Spence with the comfiest seats in any theatre I've visited. I'm hoping they don't change the seats or the ambience during the forthcoming "revamp". We attended a performance at the Theatre Royal in Bath 2 nights earlier and while that theatre has undoubted charm the Nuffield is better in every respect - better seats, better uninterrupted views of the stage, better ambience/atmosphere and better value! Not forgetting the friendly staff. Can't wait to return but hope the revamp doesn't spoil things as this is a treasure that needs preserving.

There seem to be some really excellent productions mixed in with not-so-good. The Last Temptation of Boris Johnson was clever, funny and brilliantly executed with amazing impersonations. Boris and Maggie were totally believable in their spoofed-way.

It's a pity the theatre management spoils it by keeping the theatre rather cold (I had a coat over my legs all evening) and then making the actors put out begging hands. Greater subtlety could be demonstrated, certainly with greater effect as far as I am concerned.

Twelfth Night was a very quirky but enjoyable production by the student theatre. Studio is a wacky venue.

Had tickets for this afternoon's performance but had so much trouble finding a parking place had to leave without seeing the show.Although there was plenty of room to park in the university car park would have been fined if we had parked there.

The show was based around the history of people involved in Windrush and the music that defines that journey. Brilliant show with good audience participation throughout. As with all theatres, trying to get a drink at the interval was difficult but that wasn't for a lack of staff or their work ethic- just too many people. The theatre itself is well played out and the main auditorium ideal for this type of show. Loved it- will visit this theatre again.

My sister and I went to see Amelie. It is my favourite film so I wanted to see how it translated to the stage. It was fantastic. Great actors, amazing scenery and I just got lost in at all. The theatre staff were friendly and it was a wonderful evening overall.
