I used to live in Southamton and took all my visitors to see the Tudor House. Now I have been back after almost 10 years and still find it interesting to go and feel the atmosphere of the time.

This is best museum that I have seen so far in Southampton. It has enough exhibits both inside and outside, there are guides and demonstrators, and there is even a Tudor musical duet in costume. Check out the WWII air raid shelter. One hour maximum it should take. There is a tea room too.

Very good conservation work allowing to figure out the same house accross ages and to appreciate a glance of southampton as a city from middle age until nowadays. Particularly exciting and well done are the 3D rotative video screens allowing you to revisit the same room at different periods of time. Last there is a nice cafe inside the courtyard... More

I went to the Tudor House back in the 80's so was interested to compare it again now and so much hard work has been put into making it interesting and relevant in the 21st Century. A real "piece" of Southampton history. They look after the kids very well with small baskets full of things for them to use on... More

We live in Southampton but had never visited here and decided to pop in on Saturday afternoon. We did not expect too much, but were pleasantly surprised. It has been beautifully restored and the information provided wad very educational. We had lunch in the cafe overlooking the tranquil gardens, whivh was very nice and reasonably pricef. Overall, a great visit.... More

Lovely place to visit! A must for any fan of history. You are greeted with a warm welcome and for not an unreasonable price you can take a trip through time back to the days when Henry VIII and Elizabeth I ruled England. You can take a guided tour with the help of headphones or just wander around of your... More

Visited recently my children found it interesting. I thought it was good but would of liked a few more child friendly signs with information about the house and its history as they had lots of questions and were keen to explore independently. I would return.

Very nice house and well set-up with good amount of information. We joined an extra tour - which was well worth the time and information given. Was also good fun for small kids. We enjoyed our visit

We walked through house and gardens and found it interesting. Didn't stay for tour of attic and basement as our car was on a meter outside and we didn't have enough money on it. There was a lady and man playing old fashioned instruments and wearing Tudor clothes.
