Afternoon walk

Great place for an afternoon stroll there is even a little train ride that was great fun for the kids to ride round on. Great play park for them to run off steam.

This area used to be waste land along the River Itchen. Not it is a lovely walk along the path near the river. High tide is best time to go.

Used to live quite close to this park, and it has many charms of its own. Idyllic setting alongside the river, with many swans and ducks and gulls for the avid bird lover, and a pontoon which stretches into the river for a more up-close view. Once you get further into the park you discover a playground, a bicycle training... More

Nice for walking / running long the riverside. Plenty of ducks / swans / people out on the water and walking dogs also enjoying it!

nice park by the river, linking Cobden Bridge up to the White Swan and past the watersports centre and the pitch and putt. This park has a cycle path, a model railway, a miniature road network for cycling proficiency and a kids playground. The northern half is popular fishing spot. There are a couple of pubs at the south end,... More

Very nice place! The stretch of river is free to fish with a rod license! The greens are well kept and there's pitch and putt golf, the path starting from wood mill carries on to Winchester! I hope to walk there and get the bus back to Butlocks Heath when my dodgie leg is a bit better

A very well visited place to be sure. So many families, people walking and running, kids playing, dogs running about with their families. Was a great place to go and walk off some of the excess Christmas calories! =)

What a wonderful facility it is to have this lovely park which is (as it's name says clearly) parkland alongside the river Itchen. The pathways are well kept which makes for an easy visit for all whether pedestrian, cycling, with prams and pushchairs or for the disabled. It's at its best in late spring through to early autumn, but whatever... More

This is a great place to take your dog, or even just go for a family walk, there is a play park for children and also a skate park for anyone interested in that.
