Exciting Escapes are thrilled to bring the global phenomenon that is Escape Rooms to Southampton. Working together in a small group of 2-6 people, your challenge is to solve puzzles and mysteries together while the clock ticks down. Each room has a story that you play a part in, and each presents its own unique challenges for a truly entertaining experience. Will you accept the challenge?

Great experience escaping from the Space Room this afternoon. Agent Angus was good fun, with clear instructions in character. His little hints came at just the right times and we were able to escape with 12 mins to spare. Highly recommend the space room. Have an agile team member to cope with the lazers!

We were breifed by agent Angus who was very friendly. It was very engaging with 20-30 different elements and puzzles which me and my partner worked through together, though you could split up to save time. We very much enjoyed ourselves and will be back.

We were a party of six who enjoyed a fun hour of puzzles and brain teasers in the ‘A Hidden Past’ rooms. We were ably guided by Agent Angus, who knew just when to step in and help. Exciting Escapes as a company have been incredibly patient and accommodating throughout with our cancellations and changes. I thoroughly recommend this company not only for the brilliant experience but also for their professionalism and flexibility.

Silence is a virtue (room)
We’ve just finished our 2nd room at Exciting Escapes Shirley and it was a banger !! (Excuse the pun as it involves an unexploded bomb !)
I’ve done a dozen or so escape rooms and this was one of the best.
My two sons and I just finished it , however there was enough going on for more people in the room.
Some creative puzzles and games to complete in what felt like an authentic church setting. It’s not too complex and would still be ok for a novice or someone who’s done a number of rooms.
Ruben facilitated the game in character and was on hand for an occasional clue but did so in a subtle way so we weren’t handed answers on a place ! ..thanks Ruben 👍🏻
We’ll be back for your Space Themed room but will be more of us next time.
I’d recommend this for friends , family and work colleagues/team building.

This is the second room that we have done here and, once again, we had a lot of fun. Sam and Tia were great hosts - giving us a bit of help where we needed it. The rooms are really well designed with great puzzles. We would highly recommend Exciting Escapes for a fun hour or so away from reality!

As a relatively experienced escape-roomer, I found both of the rooms I have completed here to be excellent! The staff are enthusiastic and the room's themselves are well designed and thoroughly entertaining. A shout out to our host Katie who was brilliant throughout the experience. We will definitely be back!

My great experience with Exciting Escapes started before booking - I contacted about playing all 4 rooms and they could not have been more helpful, moving slot times for us so we could play the rooms back to back as we prefer to. Really enjoyed our visit, Silence is a Virtue was my favourite, it has such a novel twist! Also worth noting that Breaking the Law was perfectly suited to a smaller team ( we play as a 2) which is rare and really nice to see. Tia, David and Sam were great hosts/GMs, thank you guys!

Attended the venue on a Saturday evening as part of a group of 11, this escape room was perfect for us as it meant all 11 people could take part in two teams and no one had to wait around (some can only take 6 at a time). We took part in the spies escape which was based during the cold war. Great fun and having been a little apprehensive about trying to do something with a various group of ages and abilities it was perfect, everyone had some input and the competition between the two teams was great.
All of the staff were friendly, helpful and kept an eye on proceedings throughout (even providing some prompts where required) to ensure even felt a sense of achievement in completing the challenge.
Great fun and especially recommended for groups of 10 to 12.

We had a fantastic experience in the Silence is a Virtue escape room at Exciting Escapes Southampton. We're an experienced team, (I've done nearly 40 rooms myself across the country and abroad), so are usually looking for a challenge rather than an entry-level room.
The room was fantastic, easily the best we've done at any of the Exciting Escapes branches we've visited (Portsmouth, Southampton and Basingstoke). The theme was excellently executed, both in terms of how it played into the game mechanics, and the quality of the decor and props, which was top notch. Pleased to have gotten out in 36 mins :)
A big shout out to our gamemaster Poppy who was fantastic before and after the game, chatting through the puzzles with us, and the whole team for accommodating our special request around the timing of the game.

Great afternoon in half term - struggling to find something to engage two stroppy teenagers and this was a hit. The host was fantastic, very happy to help, explained everything really well and knew exactly when to intervene when we started hitting our heads against a brick wall. Had a lovely time, working together as a team and laughing a lot. Thank you, we will be back

Unfortunately, at the moment our rooms are not accessible by wheelchair, however a person in a wheelchair is more than welcome to join our Games Master's in the control room and assist in giving clues to their team mates and watching the mission :)

Yes that is not a problem, under 14s are welcome to come but must be supervised by an adult. It can also be quite helpful to have at least two adults as younger children may find some of our puzzles challenging :)

Hi there! I'm Dave, one of the owners, and I'm happy to say that's absolutely not the case. We've found the games can work really well with people with autism, and if you call us first to chat through the specifics of the particular persons needs we can normally adapt the game to accommodate. For example, turning the background music down, making sure the briefing is done in a way that is supportive to their needs etc. As another example, we've also ran games recently for partially sighted customers and learnt some great lessons about how to make the games work well in these circumstances. We do have a very old building with fairly narrow stairs, so the current rooms aren't wheelchair accessible. That said, we're building a 5th room by the summer which we hope will be.
