I do like to pop into Cumberland house as the weather gets warmer in june to see the butterflies. The museum itself is quite old fashioned which is either a good or bad thing depending on your tastes but there are plenty of people who...More

I really wanted to like this place but struggled. Even post refit it still had broken things, things made from papier-mâché and staff that didn't seem to care. An initial warm welcome was followed by staff gossiping and not really paying much attention. On entering...More

A small place but lots to read and learn about, staff were friendly enough. Like a small version of the London Natural history museum. Loved the dinosaur section!

Yes it's refurbished , still has the old Dino and local archaeology and the Butterflies will soon be flying. A peaceful place , suitable for families with children. Simple interesting displays.

My 5yr old grandson wanted to visit the boating lake and we parked further up the road from the museum. As we walked past I remembered that many years ago we'd taken his dad on a visit and on the spur of the moment decided...More

Rescued from extinction by volunteers, the Natural History Museum has really been spruced up. Basically it is a home for a great collection of taxidermy and ideal for the 2 to 8 brigade with friendly knowledgeable staff. We were there at the right time for...More
