Staying in the area for the weekend we decided to go to the theatre. The show was a selection of songs etc from Broadway shows. The theatre does not look much from outside, but the interior is lovely retaining much of its character. The modern seats were comfortable if a bit narrow. Despite their only being a small audience the... More

This was the first time Id been to the theatre & I liked it ! I went with my granddaughter to see Santa Trap & it was a great show. The moment I stepped inside the staff were very helpful & the actors/actresses were amazing & very talented playing musical instruments too ( this show didn't have an orchestra, like... More

I'm not usually excited by theatre shows but have to say that we enjoyed seeing Mouse Trap on 19th March. The theatre is quite small but comfortable and the renovations have restored a magical essence that adds to the experience. Stage setup and performance was fantastic with meticulous attention to detail and lighting. Sound quality was crystal. Would have given... More

I have been visiting this theatre since I was a young boy growing up in the area and have seen many attractions over the years from concerts, plays, panto and even wrestling. I was fortunate enough to get a good look last week to see some of the recent changes. The theatre has so much history oozing from it's pores... More

Went to see an excellent play (The Santa Trap) which was well presented by a group of talented performers. But the theatre was freezing cold. There seemed to be a permanent draught which felt more like air conditioning than a window being left open. I might go again, but not in winter months. Another point - if you've got parts... More

Me and hubby went to see the Upbeat Beatles. Having lived in Portsmouth all our lives, neither have ever visited!! It is set in a central location, and is very well kept. It has an up to date bar area and still has that 'theatre' feel. Plenty of room, and staff very helpful. Lovely building. Would visit again.

We went to see "Show of Hands" last night and the Theatre was an excellent backdrop to a superb group of musicians. The Theatre is newly refurbished and is well worth a visit.Quite lovely.

Beautiful theatre ornate definitely the gem in Guildhall Walk! Love the decor and has a vast and interesting history it's also one of the few surviving Matcham theatres left along with The Kings I've seen several plays here over the years I like the intimate feel that the bigger theatres don't have. Welcoming Staff and it also has its own... More

It is so nice to see a performance in such a small theatre with such character and charm. I have seen many performances here, and would choose this over a large theatre any day.
