Simply something you have to see. The way they have redone the old ship into a museum is quite exceptional. The story it tells as you go around is also fantastic. Well worth the extra ticket you have to buy.
Wonderful experience but would question the need for protecting from light. Would greater illumination really harm the product, especially after it has gone though the Polyethlene Glycol (PEG) process? Excellent staff at hand to explain anything (I didn't ask about the light!). Well impressed.

The Mary Rose ticket office is just 2 minutes walk from the Park & Ride stop, bus station and harbour train station. At the ticket office ask for 'the buggy'. A free shuttle service to/from the museum. Wheelchairs and light--weight stools are available for visitors. The museum is fully wheelchair accessible.
Also, the museum is kept low lit to protect the artefacts and to create a stunning atmosphere. However, the morning of the fourth Friday of each month the lights are raised to engage with visitors with visual impairment and those with physical and medical conditions.
