We spent a whole day here as we booked the premier inn prior to sailing over to Isle of Wight and we had a great time. Buying the book of tickets was great value and we went on every ride! (I too went in every ride including the waltzers as my youngest is 6) and I wanted the tickets to be used up more quickly! Lol. We did crazy golf (very reasonably priced), paddled on the pebbly beach (I enjoyed looking for unusual pebbles too!), finished with fish and chips and an ice cream! Really impressed with how professional the fairground staff were in ensuring everyone’s safety, wiping each ride in between. Thanks for lovely happy memories!

Myself, my husband and our two children spent the weekend in portsmouth as we like to visit the museums, gunwarf quays etc. We spent a day at clarence pier and had a fabulous day. The children had lots of fun at the fair and in the arcades. My son loved watching the hovercraft too. Lots of sanitiser spotted around and the majority of people wore masks. Will definatly be back soon.

Visited Clarence Pier on 5.6.21. The lack of care and attention by staff on duty to manage the extremely crowded arcade areas led to a very unsafe feeling and potential Covid hotspot. No adherence to the entry and exit signs, no staff presence on entry and no visible sign of regular cleaning. Next to none mask compliance or hand sanitisation upon entry or after using the equipment. What is normally a pleasant experience in these facilities (visited for over 40 years) was soured by the unsafe practices within the building. Spoke to a member of staff who just grunted and walked away.

Cheap and cheerful place which is what I was up for having a little boy in tow who isn’t into fine dining so I couldn’t get away with taking him to the 5* hotel I work at but I can honestly say the service I received was second to none which is why I’ve given a 5…thanks to Derek who not only acknowledged my son but who understood that it’s ok if he doesn't eat a usual children’s meal but opts/enjoys sides instead.
Hospitality has taken a big hit due to covid and it’s great to see staff who still show passion so a
thank you to Kelly too who was very welcoming and kept me in the loop for when the children’s play area was available again - a shame there were no other children in there at the same time for my son to interact with but maybe that is because you have to pay for it now.
See you again soon I’m sure :)

There were some really good games but an arcade with no tickets is dull. Annoying that it costs £1.55 to withdraw money from the cash machine and there were a few games which didn't work. I don't think i'd recommend families to go here.

Hey,
I’m rather disappointed to hear your feedback.
Out of 4 arcades, 2 of them offer ticket prizes.
Hopefully see you again soon.

It has been a long time since I have been to a fun fair but not a lot has changed, Loud music and the smell of burnt sugar from frying doughnuts greet you as you walk in to the area. Children seemed to be everywhere lots of shouting all of which left me feeling old!! Some of the attractions were closed due to Covid 19 such as the climbing frames but the big wheel, crazy golf and the arcade were all open. Think there were less people wearing face mask than should of been although a lot of the place is outside people were not keeping a 2 metre distance. We didn't stay long but spent a few minutes watching the Hoover craft leaving from behind the fair

Went to Clarence Pier fair with family. I would like to thank the owners and every member of staff for such a great team effort of keeping the place so safe during this Pandemic. On the fairground rides all staff are friendly and helpful and clean every single ride before and after a visitor uses it.... Amazing... There are hand Sanitisers everywhere and are fully functioning and full. Inside the arcades they are well ventilated, sanitisation everywhere and face masks mandatory, even staff were wearing them. I had a great day out with the family and want to thank the owners and every member of staff for such professionalism and so glad to see a company put so much effort in keeping their visitors safe... Well done 👏 👏

Great evening out at before going out for dinner. We were just going to go on the big wheel and the wàlzer as were in our late 50s. The girl in the ticket booth pointed out that for a little extra we could get more tokens. We went on several rides, few extra turns on the wheel as it wasn't busy. We're going back later in the week for another go! Great friendly helpful staff.

Nostalgic walk around the pier and amusement arcades this morning. Brought back memories of many years ago and felt like little had changed. Perhaps that’s the worry. Children have other things they can do these days including online games, PlayStation etc. A couple of pounds spent on the arcade games though brings back a few stories......

Hey,
Looking at your response, I’m rather confused why you’ve only left 3 stars?
Hopefully you’ll revisit again soon.

We’ve lived nearly for years but have never visited. My youngest (10) is theme park and ride obsessed so decided on a visit. Now I’m not going to compare this to a theme park but he had a lot of fun and I thought the 50 tokens for £25 was good value for a couple of hours of fun. I only took one child so I can appreciate a bigger group would get pricey.
We used the park and ride which was excellent value at £4 but there is parking around the pier. We had fun doing some rides and had a few snacks. A couple of games in the arcade and walking down and looked at south sea castle. Also enjoyed watching the hovercraft leave and got quite wet! Overall I would recommend for filling a few hours with kids. There was hardly any waits for the rides even on a sunny school holiday Wednesday (we went at opening and it was getting busier into the afternoon). The ride operators were friendly and everything seemed maintained.

Just wanted to find out whether it's open during this whole covid thing. We are planning to go down end of August and a little worried about what is actually open?
Written July 31, 2020
The website states that day wristband for the amusement park are valid between 12-5pm. Does this mean that after 5pm you need to use tokens? Thanks
