We’ve gone down to visit Hambledon in the morning and ended up with a few colleagues at the pub in the evening. Hayley was about to finish her shift, but she still served us with a friendly smile and told us a few stories about...More

Rather than a seaside pier in the traditional style, Clarence Pier could best be described as part of the promenade, albeit that it has all the fairground attractions and all the fast food and ice cream outlets you would expect. We visited on a lovely...More

The most sticky floor I have ever experienced. Grubby and sad. But I needed a coffee. Understaffed and dirty tables.

My friends and I went there on Monday 6th May. Had a good long walk along the front, nice view of the boats etc. Had some really great fish and chips at the first stall opposite the big wheel. A bit of a cold wind...More

This is quite nice, but in a fadded glory sort of way. The rides ar reasonable value for money, but some of them look like they have seen better days. The large Ferris Wheel is worth going on though.

I used to love Clarence Pier as a child. Coming back was a little bit underwhelming but this could have been due to the fact it was off-season. The arcades were great fun and the fish and chips was tasty. With a bit of TLC...More

Very tacky, old fashioned, poorly maintained rides, buildings and facilities. I understand that some of the facilities have been condemned? Cheap and nasty.

We made the mistake of coming back - the big wheel was lit but not turning - plenty of bored kids kicking cans and rubbish around. Probably best to avoid.
