Came here with my two year old this morning thinking have a nice morning out couple of hours looking at the fish and Animals. We walked around it in 15 minutes. It smelt awful and looked awful too. All the tanks were dirty and water was cloudy. Went to look at feeding time at 11 and nobody was there. My... More

I hadn't visited the aquarium in Portsmouth since i was a child at which point it was a SeaLife Center. I wasn't sure what to expect now, but on a rainy Saturday it seemed like an ideal activity with my girlfriend. Entry was very reasonably priced and i was very impressed with the range of displays within. The Otter feeding... More

Luckily I found a voucher to visit here but even £8.50 was overpriced. The place had a smell of rotten eggs, it was dark and dingy and looked old and tired. We were out of there in 20 mins. Waste of money! The outside had a sand area which is fine in the summer but for an autumn day there... More

We visited the aquarium with our two young children for a family day out. We paid just over £30 and I can quite honestly say it was a complete rip off. We walked around it in 40mins!! The whole place is tired looking and smells, the fish tanks appeared too small for the size and amount of fish. They also... More

Shabby, way overpriced (nearly £30 for an adult and two teenagers) and completed in about 25 minutes. Dirty tanks, peeling paint, scruffy peeling signs, crowded tanks. The saddest thing was the stinking otter enclosure, no access to fresh air or sunshine. Dismal. I have visited many aquariums in many countries and this is by far the worst. Not worth the... More

It only took half an hour to walk round. The information could have been presented in a more interesting way too. Otter enclosure smelt and there weren't any otters. The only plus was that, "The bug man," was visiting and my friend's seven year old enjoyed looking at the bugs and holding a snake. They should offer a value for... More

My husband myself and I visited blue reef aquarium with our 6 year old daughter whilst in Portsmouth following holiday to France. The aquarium is located along the waterfront between Southend and Portsmouth with plenty of parking along the front opposite a big green area with a park for kids to let off steam. The aquarium is small but is... More

Really enjoyed our visit , The Aquarium is well located on the seafront & admission prices are good value . Once inside we were able to walk round at our leisure & take whatever pictures we wanted & as you come out there is a small but good gift shop. Staff were polite & friendly.

Came with my teenage son, husband and parents. Firstly went into the cafe where we had great fish and chips then we went into the Aquarium. Lovely range of fish and we were all fascinated by the seahorses and stingrays. A massive range of fish there. Didn't see the beavers as they'd just been feed and they were napping. Terrapins... Hi, thank you for your review. It's great to see that you and your family enjoyed their experience of the Blue Reef Aquarium and our café! Seahorses are such interesting animals - did you know they can see in both directions at the same time? I'm sorry you didn't get to see our otters. They are a bit like toddlers... More
