My wife and I walked the Cotwold Way from Chipping Campden to Bath in 8 days. We carried our packs and stayed in farmhouses, B&B's and pubs. There were some magnificent views and varied walking through villages, farms and woods. It was quite hilly but all very manageable for anyone prepared for a 100 mile hike.

A fabulous long distance walk--be sure to get the luggage transfer. Make overnight accommodations early so you don't have to walk too far off the trail. We walked from Chipping Campden toward Bath. Take plenty of water!

After work on a Friday evening, my friend and I decided to explore some of the Cotswolds way and Kelston Roundhill. Starting in North Stoke, we travelled along the Cotswolds way, to allow for some lovely views of Bristol and Bath, although hazy, we could make out the major landmarks. From the racecourse, we were able to access Kelston Roundhill, and then into Kelston itself. We were too late for the cheese shop and cafe, but the pub was thriving. Certainly worth seeing the views from the Roundhill!

Two days into the hike from Chipping Campden to Birdslip so far and the best sections gave been the section from Chipping Campden to Broadway, and ?Seven Springs to Birdslip.
Good sections of the retail wind through paddocks and that can get a bit monotonous. However, some of the higher sections have spectacular views out over the surrounding countryside.
Generally well signposted, however first time hikers who aren't familiar with the trail and county should take one of the better Cotswold hiking books as tho it's well signposted, there were a couple of sections where we list the trail where it diverged and needed to consult the guide to get back on track

One of the most beautiful walks there is! Even if you're not a hardened-hiker, make a little time, get a map, and stroll through some of the most wonderful scenery in all of England. Best way to see the real countryside!

Hike all seemed to be up hill but what wonderful vistas. People we met on the trail were friendly. Many sites to see along with sheep in the meadows.

Cotswold Way Walk is not to be taken lightly especially if doing it in 6 consecutive days walking. The CWW is billed as a walk through quintessential English countryside. Some of it is, but not all! I would estimate half of the overall 102 miles of the CWW is through dense woodland. Who knew the Cotswolds contained so many trees? Not to mention the endless number of hills marched up and down every day. Apart from that it was a great experience, especially if you like trees!

Nothing spectacular, but simply beautiful English countryside.
Obviously best enjoyed during sunny months, like we had in 2018.
Spend as much time as you like, there are plenty of detours.

There are many local walks that incorporate parts of the Cotswolds Way. It is worth seeking out leaflets or a local walks booklet. Great views of the Cotswolds for not too much effort on walks out of Winchcombe

Is it possible to stay in one of the towns, hike to another town from there in one day? Which town would be most affordable to stay in? Thank you

Hi,you need the book first,it details the whole of the Cotswold way walk in each stage in great detail both ways of walking.
Either from Bath to Chipping Camden or Visa versa.
We bought our book from amazon on the web cheap.
Most stages are easy walking about 10 miles, but it is possible to walk 2stGes in a day,but public transport is far and few between.taxis to expensive and one car is no good because you have to get it back after the days walk.
Accomadation especially in summer gets booked up in advance and a night bb in a double room averages £75 total.
Most walks end in smal villages or towns with limited services,so planning in advance is essential.
We plan all our walks for week or months before on internet research.
Hope this helps and we are willing to answer any help you need.
Remember our weather,Cotswolds are mild, but always take light rain wear.,good worn in boots.
Christine.
