Only visited as saw signs whilst walking through the park, and as it was free entry thought it couldnt hurt to have a look. Was pleasantly surprised at the variety of artefacts on display, from household items and children's toys to roman finds and even dinosaur fossils! Friendly staff around and laminated sheets in each room giving more info on... More

Me and my boyfriend went on a bat walk which was organised through this museum, which was amazing! We saw so many bats and the woman doing the tour was so knowledgeable! she didn't even get annoyed when my boyfriend was annoying and kept trying to make bat noises into the bat detector -.- afterward we were welcomed into the... You cannot go to the cotswolds without a visit to this place. On arrival you are greeted by the most friendly and helpful staff. One of whom was most helpful when it came to our family history..so knowledgeable. The people of the cotswolds are so hospitable and friendly. The museum is set in the lovely redwood tree Stratford park...somewhere you... More

Greeted by 2 lovely young ladies that made us feel extremely welcome and explained the layout of the museum. They also explained there was a children's trail sheet to make the visit more interesting for them. As a Dad I love anything that is "Free entry" and also entertaining and educational for the family. Enjoyed the visit and the park... More

Not just a fascinating permanent collection telling the history of the Stroud District, the main Exhibition Gallery has an excellent programme of exhibitions – currently a hugely innovative hand-knitter and two brilliantly original hand-loom weavers (part of Stroud International Textiles Festival); move quickly for this one though, it finishes before the end of May. But the SPACE TO WATCH here... More

I am very lucky to have this excellent Museum and Art Gallery on my doorstep. I visit, mainly for the Art Exhibitions, regularly. They always put on a great selection of varied artists' works, both local and international. The building and grounds are immaculate and very good for walking. The Museum itself is very good, fully of exhibits from local... More

Interesting museum based on local history, dating back to the Romans. Friendly staff and lovely facilities.

The museum itself is nice, but pretty basic. There was a nice craft activity for kids and the staff was very nice and helpful. The park around the museum is also nice and there is a good playground near the car park. All in all it was ok for passing by, but wouldn't go too far out of the way... More
