My wife and I have been to The Fosse many times. You won't find a better gallery of contemporary art in the country! The gallery sources new (& old!) artists with extraordinary talent. If you like pictures this is the place for you!

What an amazing find. Wonderful art work and very friendly & welcoming staff. Made to feel welcome as soon as I entered the gallery & was also given the space to appreciate the art

Fosse Gallery provides consistently attractive and beautifully crafted works by Sharon Wheaton's "stable" of artists: the suggestive profiles of Lydia Corbett, the Caravaggian precision of Michael de Bono, the narrative and allegorical images of Mick Rooney, and the striking colours of Lucy Pratt. The individual shows, with the artist present, provide the opportunity to appreciate an artist's vision in depth; the collections (particularly those with a Welsh flavour!) are stimulating and well-balanced. Knowledgeable and helpful staff with owner Sharon usuually there to greet.

I was drawn into this gallery in the hope of buying a painting but a brunette who appeared to be the owner was lost in gossip. It all sounded rather one sided. I had to leave without so much as a 'good afternoon'. Gossip is not good or reliable, perhaps she is unaware of the harm that it can cause people? All the other reviews are glowing so maybe I just caught her in a private moment, but all the same I felt sorry for the person she was talking about.

We cannot share the enthusiasm of other reviewers. We visited the gallery recently, and were totally ignored by staff. Not a "hello" or any other acknowledgement of our presence, either when we entered or at any time while we were there. One staffer was working with other clients, so we did not expect them to stop and deal with us. But as best we could tell there were 2 staffers, both of whom gave total attention to the other clients, and simply acted as if we were invisible. We left after 5 minutes in the gallery without ever exchanging a single word with anyone. Seems to me it is hard to sell your items if you ignore potential customers. By the way, we were not simple tourists just stopping in. We collect when the right piece finds us.

I chanced across the gallery one early October a few years ago now, having seen a distant flash of cobalt blue in the gallery window from the very far side of the square. Venturing to discover what this might be, I found myself very warmly welcomed as the, last minute, frenzied activity was happening, ahead of an opening view of a new exhibition that evening. In many places I would have been regarded as a nuisance arriving at an inconvenient moment, but not at The Fosse Gallery! I went away with an invitation to the Opening View that evening and left that night with my very first purchase. I have been back regularly ever since and have always experienced a genuine warmth from owner Sharon Wheaton and others who have worked with her over recent years. The gallery provides a super setting for the quality of art that one might normally expect to find in a London gallery. The annual series of one man or themed shows provides for quite a kaleidoscope of interets as new finds rub shoulders with established artists (including Royal Acadamicians) and the occasional mixed exhibitions are a particular personal joy, as if a little piece of the RA Summer Exhibition were to have been transposed to the Cotswolds. The walls of my sitting room provide me with many a memory of happy times in Stow on the Wold.

The Fosse Gallery is gaining a wider reputation daily - quite properly. It's a gallery with the range of work usually only found in St James's galleries, in the loveliest Cotswold setting and often at more realistic prices.

Gallerist, Sharon Wheaton, has assembled a fascinating stable of artists, new and older, including over a dozen Royal Academicians whose works receive special show-casing in one man/woman exhibitions. Her guidance is readily available to seasoned collectors and impulse purchasers alike and the Sunday private views are becoming a hot ticket.

Whenever you visit, you will find something up-lifting and tempting.

I have visited the gallery a few time now and there is always such an array of different styles to enjoy and be inspired by. Such a friendly atmosphere. A must visit if you are in the Cotswolds

The Fosse Gallery is a rare combination of high quality international art and accessible rural informality. Run with enormous personal charm, dedication and knowledge (both of art and her devoted clients' preferences) by owner, Sharon Wheaton, her stable of Royal Academicians and up-coming artist relish the showcase and support she provides for their work.

Having collected enthusiastically for years my 10 or so pictures from Fosse are amongst my most favourite. I value Sharon and her small team's advice and love the opportunity to meet the artists at the delightful monthly private views.

When in the Cotswolds or nearby, find the Fosse Gallery on the Market Square and take home something special for your own walls.

Popped in and saw the Gear show being hung. Fantastic colour and great fun. As ever it will be worth a visit to enjoy the gallery and the area. One of our favourite galleries.
