What an amazing shop, well set out with every type of book you could wish for. The wonderful lady in the shop knew I was looking for recipes that would encourage me to eat during cancer treatment. There were all ready good books on the shelves but this lady knew of a better one, which she promptly ordered for me to arrive the next day in time for us leaving the area. It was a lovely expensive book which when my husband came to pick up and pay for she gave it to him with her best wishes for my future. What an extraordinary act of human kindness. So much empathy and compassion, a wonderful gesture. It truly moved me. Thank you.

Fabulous! Great selection of books - all types of genres and hidden classics.
The staff were friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable - you could see they had a genuine passion for books. A ‘must visit’ when in beautiful the Cotswolds.

A beautiful bookshop with helpful staff who really know their stock. They are up to date with the newest titles [which invariably they have read] but can get you whatever you need if it's not on the shelves.
It is so good to see an independant bookshop still holding up against the odds with all the "big boys"

Fantastic customer experience. Wide variety of titles. Very enthusiastic staff - happy to chat about books with no pressure to buy - and a lovely little bookshop dog added to the friendly atmosphere.

Friends
I went in, accompanied by two American friends whom I was showing around the area, to try to buy a specific local book. The man behind the counter went and found the book I was looking for, so that was excellent service, and I made my purchase. But his attitude wasn't particularly welcoming, making little eye contact, and he displayed no interest in talking to myself or the American visitors - there was, I think, only one other customer in the shop at that time, so he wasn't exactly rushed off his feet - and nor did his wife. Assuming that this is the same couple who have been mentioned favourably in other reviews, I can only put their attitude with us down to them having a problem with tourists in general, or just American tourists (In fairness, it's also possible that there was a family issue that day). Both myself and my friends noticed his attitude, and commented on it when we'd left the shop.
