If you have the legs for an uphill walk this is well worth the effort. The walk up is not too difficult, we passed lots of children coming down so a family will be able to do it. We walked from Painswick, across the golf...More

There is parking at two ends of the escarpment (one signposted and one not). Walking across the golf course to the old Iron-age fort is a great couple of hours for the dogs or the kids. Wonderful views.

A great 360 view, worth the walk and not too hard for any age. On the day we went (Thursday), very few people on the walk or golf course, which made it very pleasant.

There is a nice walk up through beech woods to the NW of the golf course. Other walks intersect the golf course so be careful not to frustrate the golfers! Lovely views, and a meal at The Painswick Hotel after is ace.

A good way to spend an hour if you have some spare time. The views are amazing. The actual beacon itself is basic, and the walk through the golf course is pleasant enough.

Lovely Sunday farm stroll- scenic views with moderate hills. Great to do first thing in the morning; head into town afterwards for kick ons and a scone.

We took a walk up the Beacon on a day trip out to Painswick. It is a couple of miles north of the village and there is informal car parking either side of the lane linking the A46 and the B4073 by the golf course....More

We set off on a circular 5 mile walk from Painswick that finished up on the beacon. The views were beautiful and because it's common land, you can walk where you like.
