About
Battledown Brewery is a small family run business producing a range of fine cask, keg, canned and bottled beers. There is a shop located in the middle of the brewery stacked with all our products. We are located on the delightful Coxhorne Farm and enjoy the luxury of having our own spring water.

Excellent tour and tasting hosted by Battledown Brewery. Lots of delicious beer and generous ploughman’s platter served too. Roland and his team has everything in place to make the night very enjoyable whilst following all the COVID regulations.

Each to their own I suppose and if you are a fan of those deadful keg beers with their volumous amounts of gas then this is not a night for you. The evening spent at Battledown Brewery was informative and welcoming in equal measure. As a group of thirty+ we spent over two hours in the company of mine host who imported his knowledge and is experience. For ÂŁ12 we had two barrels of fine 4.5 abv and 7.2 abv Cheltenham Spa ale to consume, the tour and a veritable amount of ploughmans to eat which we did with gusto.
This is Real Ale from a real ale brewery, everything else is just beer.

We didn't know what to expect but were very surprised.
Lovely, lovely ales, loads of knowledge and enthusiasm and also a gorgeous family.
A must if you like real "beer" and you're visiting Cheltenham.

Popped by with looking at these reviews and was not disappointed. The guys were friendly and helpful with info and tried a sample of each. Fully recommended, (The Gin Distillery next door is excellent too). It's a small place but still very interesting to look around. They said they'll be moving soon, so good luck to them :).

A great couple of hours to learn about beer and how it is made, taste it (of course!), and enjoy a bread and cheese platter on the side - excellent value at ÂŁ12! We went for a friends 40th birthday with a group of 20 people, it was perfect. Our guide was really passionate about the brewery, and that made it a really interesting visit for the mind as well as the taste buds! Highly recommended if you enjoy beer and cheese!

Took a group tour of this brewery after work weeks back and had a very enjoyable time. Not only did I learn a lot, but the brewery is small, which gave the tour an intimate feel. The ploughman's spread afterwards was great in its own right, but also a very nice accompaniment to the ale on offer. We had a couple in our group who weren't massive beer drinkers but the brewery had wine in the shop to buy so we could all enjoy our meal.

Excellent organised works visit to this small craft brewery housed in what appeared to be a converted garage at the end of a side street in Cheltenham. It is, in fact, an old small engineering works building.
A small charge is made of ÂŁ12 per person which is excellent value considering that several pints of "Natural Selection" and "Premium" ales were on hand pump. An IPA at 7.2% was also sampled (lovely beer!).
All the beers are brewed using, where possible, local ingredients and chemical-free.
A brilliant range of cheeses, pickles and breads were available to soak up (some) of the beer all included in the price.
An associated business on the same site also now distils a lovely, slightly sweet, gin called "Sibling".

Visited here for the first time yesterday as part of the 'boutique beer tour' organised by the Cheltenham Literary Festival. It was great to spend some time with an obviously committed, knowledgeable and enthusiastic expert, who gave us some great insights into the brewing process that you do not normally get on brewery tours.

I visited the brewery as part of a trip arranged by dads at my daughters school. I was not quite sure what to expect but was welcomed with a sample of beer and chatted to other dads whilst everyone assembled.
The brewey itself is literally a couple of large sheds with brewing equipment inside
The owner of the brewery gave an interesting and informative talk during which we were invited to sample various brews. His passion for his subject was obvious and he answered various questions amiably.
After the talk there was more beer accompanied by a delicious range of breads and cheeses.
Total visit time was approximately two hours. Well worth the cost and time if you enjoy traditional English beer.
