We had a lovely time at the Lewes Arms after a visit to the Castle. Delicious Sunday roast by the fire, friendly staff, very good beer. Not fancy as many gastropubs, feels like a proper local, but with great quality and atmosphere. We recommend.

Over an hour for food is tough but once it has had arrived after many apologies it sure was good. If we are ever back in Lewes we will come back for food!

Bar and waiting staff friendly and helpful. We both ordered roast beef. Both had a few chewy bits but there was stuffing... with the beef ???and that was extremely dry. My partner was not over keen on the beetroot and both of us would have preferred the swede without the skin. Overall not particularly inspiring.

The food is varied and delicious, and the space is attractive. Bookings advised for groups as seating is limited. Would highly recommend the selection of daily vegetarian or meat specials.

Came across this pub on sunday after a bit of a TripAdvisor search whilst very weary at the end of a 15 mile walk... what a find! A proper drinkers pub - no pretense, but real charisma and style. An open fire and... those roasts! Off the back of this we've started looking at property in the area - will... More

I have been going to this pub for over 10 years. Good food with a real pub atmosphere. Loved by locals and they still serve Harvey's. Its not a gastro pub its a real pub with real character and characters at the bar. Long may it remain just as it is :)

Well, what a find this was. We found this place after asking a local where is a good place to eat. He gave us a quick rundown of the pubs in Lewes, and the Lewes Arms was five minutes away. This is a real pub with real ales and real atmosphere. It is divided up into 4 rooms, drinkers bar... More

Great little pub. Was recommended it by a friend for lunch and it didn't disappoint. Good specials menu, difficult to chose what to have! Delicious falafels. Would recommend it for food and charm.

This pub is what I would call a real drinkers pub. Atmosphere was fabulous, food could not be better (large portions) but best of all was the ales. There was even board games to entertain us while we waited to order our food. Nice comfy armchairs and sofas add to a brilliant experience. Highly recommended.

As I said, stumbled across this place, looked at the menu outside, something for everyone. Quite a quirky pub, lots of tables on different floors, lovely open fire, which had gone out but, for a change, in a pub, the radiator was actually on!! As for the food...... I had the lamb meatballs on flatbread and salad, wow, delicious. My... More
