West Hill railway is closed for 3 months which was a bit of a disappointment. So we walked across to the East Hill via George Street which was a nice route to take. East Hill railway is the steepest in the country and takes you...More

We visit Hastings every August and always take a ride on either West or East railways just for the great views especially like last weekend when weather was perfect and price is not that bad for a great experience

My partner and I stayed in Hastings for bank holiday, and we visited the cliff railway. It was a good experience, the view was great. If you like history and are interested in the old design behind the railway you would like this. It’s fun...More

It's a short trip but we'll worth it. The views are stunning. And the experience in itself is worth it. Staff are really friendly too, give it ago xxx

Such a quaint simple little hillside railway, that goes up to the cliff tops for great views over Hastings. We bought the tickets (returns) at the office at the bottom, the same guy there operates the railway/lift. Must do if in Hastings.

This has a funicular railway. This is fun, unusual and reasonably priced! Good views at the top and an expensive ice cream van. The East Cliff is better as there's the castle and caves.

The wonderful Hastings East Cliff Railway is visible from a long distance away. It provides a link from the Stade to the East Hill section of Hastings Country Park. In comparison, the West Cliff Railway (which is currently closed) is rather hidden away. Only return...More
