Well, we got there in plenty of time for once. Get registered, eat food, have a drink, play bingo - a simple plan. Arrived circa 1845h and at 1925h we were just getting processed as new members. A small group of about 6 in front - the poor lady on reception was clearly way out of her depth, the computer system died and went to heaven, pleas on the PA for the manager to come to reception weren't heeded. My friend kept mentioning that we'd been here quite some time, what time did the restaurant close, would we have time to eat while playing - we're virtually bingo virgins (having played once before at Beacon Bingo Brighton a few weeks earlier).

We just managed to get seated in time for 'eyes down' and off we went. Prizes were 'low' - £10 for a line and at one point, 5 people shouted on the same number - well, they won't be able to give up work tomorrow. Money went up for two lines and then up again for full house.

Got to 2000h and there was a break - right, off to find food. Well, it looked less than appetising, the poor woman behind got the last jumbo hot dog and it didn't look good - two tone in colour where it had dried under the heat of the lamp on top, but paler where it kept its underside moist - and the pasta bolognaise, don't go there - think you may have been able to sue for broken teeth if you'd opted for it. We went for spicy chilli nachos - soured cream was long life out of a tube - the chilli looked more like gravy, but it was okay, best of a bad bunch. Drinks okay, bar clean, service reasonable (I would guess there was a brand new staff member that hadn't worked behind a bar before and wasn't getting too much assistance - but hey ho, we've all been there). Good prices. Quick nip to the toilet - opted for the disabled as we had little time left to eat - not pleasant - note on the door said they'd been checked not long before - checked, perhaps - any action taken, doubt it.

Back in, quickly eat and then the last 4 games and the Brighton special. Better prize money for these. Whilst ploughing through these, the manager, who had been conspicuous by his absence when we arrived, found us and offered us drinks. We're driving, so, he made amends by giving us a free return visit, with drinks, dinner (and dessert) - so, we'll be going back - and we won't have to register, so should get in quicker - maybe the food will be a little less dehydrated too. Will let you know.

All told, had a very open mind, so will give it a 'middle of the road' rating and will re review on our return :-)

Be very wary of this company. They use Highview Parking who are nothing more than cowboys. Buzz Bingo offered the NHS a place to park during the pandemic and then quietly withdrew the offer. I work front line with patients at hospitals and clinics around Sussex. I stopped at the Bingo Hall for 40 mins whilst I picked up supplies for my clinics - I displayed my Government parking permit only to receive a PCN weeks later to say I am being charged £100. A week later, even after I have appealed this notice, they have increased that charge to £140 and are not threatening me with court. I contacted the Manager at Buzz Bingo, his name is Darrell - he showed no compassion at all. Money is their main goal. Very upset and extremely disappointed as I work hard at my job but cannot afford this large fine

Toilets need updating never clean. Food not healthy. Also you could be waiting at least over hour for drinks and food. Not enough people at the bar. No electric pad where you could order take cash and card. Could help with bar staff. Price money is rubbish. They charge more and prize money rubbish. Not value for money at all. Over the years it has got worst.

My review is solely about the restaurant/bar area (the bingo area is excellent as always and a good day out).

I hadn't visited since before Christmas 2016 and understood that they'd undergone an extensive refurbishment of their food service. (I actually had a telephone call from the Brighton Gala Bingo people who were conducting a customer service to provide a better service.)

The restaurant area has now completely disappeared and if you want any sort of food you have to go over to the bar area where everything is done behind the scenes via a staff telephone ordering system.

There is an enormous and very detailed sign in several places behind the bar which details known food allergens etc and a request to chat with your server if you have any queries. I wanted to try the new item on the menu - a spinach and felafel burger - and asked the woman serving if this contained any dairy as I have an allergy. She asked me if I wanted a plain burger and pointed to the meat option. I said no, asked again about the spinach and felafel burger and after five minutes of going back and forth with assurances that everything was fine placed my order. (The woman in the queue behind me just shook her head and said: "You have more patience than me!")

We took our seats. By now there was a queue of 10 VERY angry people - all with complaints about their orders. Our order arrived. I was handed a meat burger. I told the server that this was not what I ordered and he waved his hand and said it was nothing to do with him and I'd have to go back to the bar.

I queued behind the 10 very angry customers. When I pointed out the mistake in the order the women asked me "what the hell was it you wanted then?", grabbed the phone and said, "I don't know what it is". I repeated my query about the dairy content. When my burger arrived it was loaded with cheese. I didn't bother to go up to the bar again as yet more very angry customers had joined the queue.

1. Your staff need to know what's on the menu
2. If you display a poster about allergens, your staff need to be able to answer those questions
3. If you have a fully functioning restaurant area why would you remove it entirely under the guise of a "better experience"??

Awful.

Bingo , for 6 ! None of us had been before . So all a bit nervous. But looking forward to it. The staff were so helpful & friendly & explained everything. Made us feel so welcome. The game starts very quickly; you got to consentrate. All & all a very good evening, no one in our group one anything, but we all had fun , thoroughly enjoyed ourselves & signed up for membership. Will be back for sure

We attended for a game of bingo, however, we were not even able to get through the door.
We arrived 45 minutes before the game started as we were aware people needed to be signed up. There was a group of 4 people in front of us who were being signed in so we thought we had left enough time. However, the lady on the front desk was not very good with computers and was clearly not very well trained as she could not work the system (at no fault of her own). After 30 minutes we realised that it was unlikely that we would get in for the next game. In that 30 minutes a number of other members of staff passed the desk and told the lady there was a large queue, but none of these members of staff offered to help with the queue.
After 45 minutes of standing in line with no apology from any member of staff we turned around and went home and have not returned since.
This is clearly a problem from a management level, who were not there to feel the repercussion of their mistake.

Used a Groupon voucher so got 2 main event booklets and a bottle of wine for £10.

Went with my wife and there were some other family members present. It was good value, cheap cheerful and something different.

Wine was fine and tasted even nicer at the price.

Very impressed with the speed of some of the people that can dab for Britain haha.
