A thoroughly enjoyable cinema to visit with a cosy cafe and bar. The seats are comfortable and the view of the screen is good. There is a good range of films to see.

For a traditional, authentic cinema experience in comfortable surroundings there is no better place. The balcony sofas are a real treat, although on full house nights it can get very warm up there even in the winter. There is nice bar (no Guinness!) with a...More

A wonderful old cinema. Very comfortable seating. Senior prices twice a week. Cheap day on Mondays. Intellectual and creative art films. Cinema festival in the autumn. Bar on first floor and small balcony. Seating outside. The best cinema in town.

I love this cinema it's a better option to the overly popular and noisy mainstream cinemas, you know the ones! Though their newly established Komedia is by far the best cinema in town.

I've been here several times, most recently to see the restored 40th anniversary of Halloween (1978). The sound was so quiet you could hear the air conditioning throughout the film - a fact made even more ridiculous by the fact that it was about 30...More

I’m a Picturehouse member and see films at least twice a month at The Dukes (much more during the winter when my kids are regulars at the Saturday morning Kids Club). It’s a lovely cinema with loads of history and very comfortable seats. Despite being...More

Great old cinema but the cost to see a film at the Picturehouse is extortionate compared to other cinemas.

Quirky interior lovely seating and great food and drinks selection make a nice change from the normal cinema chains. Oh the film wasn't bad either. Worth a visit.

Free coffee or tea & biscuits as well as cheaper tickets if you are over 60. Also do special showings for parents with babies ‘The Big Scream’ & autism-friendly showings too. Good range of films.
