Well laid out campus with lots of features to make it student friendly. From an outsider perspective, there's lots of accomodation. Shops on site. Lovely green campus too - not too much concrete! Struggled to find a parking space though.

massive place, very well organised, the layout and signage of the place made it easy to find where we wanted to park, I saw a convenience store on site, I think it was a co-op.

Great education establishment but in my opinion lacking in accommodation for students. Lot's of substandard flats to rent from uncaring landlords.

Attended a corporate event here and was amazed at the size of the place. The lecturing community were incredibly knowledgeable teaching us about "Quantum Computing", or at least trying to and the tour of their laboratory was awesome. Fantastic location with lots of nature all...More

I last had a 'hot' meal here and it was stone cold, this demonstrates that they don't check their food temperatures! Not recommended at all. They take advantage of their captive student clients.

My son has just graduated here with a Zoology degree and he loved it - never wanting to return home! The facitilites are excellent and the campus is lovely with very nice halls of residence to suit all budgets.

I haven’t actually studied here, but I was in a summer camp there. So I can’t say anything about the academically side of it. Still, the campus facilities and the territory itself with its parks and cafes make an impression of a nice place to...More

Sir Basil Spence did some great work here designing the campus. Sometimes during the right weather and right time of day the viewpoints are breath-taking. A lovely campus to walk around.

The campus was designed by Sir Basil Spence in the 1960's, the original buildings later gaining Grade 3 Listed status. The campus is green and beautiful, best experienced in the sunshine. The uni itself has seen a fair famous faces graduate with Sussex degrees including...More

Three days to fill outside of London (0 Replies)
My husband and I are taking our teenagers to England and Wales in June. We have most of the trip planned, but need some ideas on a good place to go with teenagers for three nights. While in England, we will be seeing Stonehenge, Bath (just for a day), then over to Wales for a week. From Wales we will be coming back and seeing Blenheim Palace, then down to Brighton to drop off my son at the University of Sussex. From there we are staying in Rye and visiting Hastings. We then have 3 days with...More

How would I get from Heathrow to University of Sussex?

'How would I get from Heathrow to University of Sussex?' The short answer is: it depends. If you plan to study at the University and will travel with a fair amount of baggage then book a car service. Alternately you may take the Underground from the airport to London Victoria or London Blackfriars stations and take a train to Brighton then taxi to the University or (local train to Falmer). Without knowing considerably more it is impossible to say how 'best' to make the journey. Let us...More
Moving in with boyfriend to Brighton -july-august 2010! (8 Replies)
Hi there, I've been having a look here lately, finding useful information about living in Brighton. However, I was wondering if you could help me too. Me and my boyfriend are going to move together when I go to University of Sussex in September, but because we're going on holidays in mid august, I need to leave everything ready for when we come back! What areas are affordable + close to Uni! Our budget for rent is up to £800. I'm a student but he's got a full time job! Any information you...More

have a look at places like and surrounds of Southover, Hanover, Race Hill, Elm Grove, Lewes Rd, Ditching Rd, Upper Hollingdean, caution about Bevendean and Moulsecoomb and Coldean which are closer to the Uni. J-t-D, over to you, more your neck'o the woods?
