My daughter and I stopped in for a quick bite, the food was extremely well priced, our portions were large and delicious. If you are ever in the area, you need to pop in. Great spot. Visiting from Canada.

Went for Sunday lunch there were 3 of us. Was greeted and taken to our seat by Denise. She was so pleasant and professional nothing was too much trouble. Food was amazing I would highly recommend their hot chicken wings, messy but well worth it. Sunday lunch high standard. All round beautiful experience

The staff were so lovely! They gave the pub a really personable and casual feel whilst also providing excellent and attentive service. My partner had a pint of Wilde which they said they thoroughly enjoyed and I had a wonderful glass of Picpoul in their little sun trap of a garden. We shared a portion of some absolutely delicious falafel too. Would fully recommend to anyone visiting Brighton!

The food was nice, but I just felt completely uncomfortable. Whilst the staff were wearing masks, they were not asking any customers to do the same. Therefore lots of people were moving around, going to the toilets etc without wearing one.
It’s not difficult for staff to highlight the rules upon entry, like every other bar/ restaurant I’ve been in does.
We were sat next to a busy thoroughfare and it was very uncomfortable, with lots of kids and adult passing closely without masks.
There was one chap (drinking) only ... with pupils like saucers, who passed us 8 times in 60 minutes to ‘use the toilet’. I’ll let you draw your own conclusions as to what was actually going on there, but at no point did he have a mask on. He seemed to know the main chap (possibly the landlord) very well, but was allowed to pop to the loo every 5 minutes without so much as the slightest challenge.
It’s simply not good enough.

Absolutely disgusting, i paid for a large sauvignon blanc....nearly £8 and was given some rank horrible wine that was not fit to drink. i took it back & asked for another one & they charged me another £8..... So £16 for a glass of wine...... Total crap

Having ordered our lunches and waiting quite a while. We were a big group but had booked over ia month ago fo r lunch after the Brighton half. The roasts started turning up randomly 5 turned up for the 16 who had ordered. All allocated others waiting starving! After 7 mins a member of staff arrived and demanded the food back!!!!! Wrong table!!!! We all said no. The cook was even there giving looks! So bad. I worked in catering for years never seen this! The rest of the plates came without incident. The chicken was good if dry. Gravy awful. Yorkshire unseasoned. Veg mushy out of a pack. No cauliflower cheese we were assured wld be included. They left us upstairs with dirty plates and no one checking for drinks. Altogether very poor. I realise in this location return customers are not the aim but truly get your act together. Also when you d tee up don’t be rude to the customers!

Probably the worst pub lunch of the year for me. All of my food, apart from one roast potato, was either cold or barely warm and the lamb was tough and undercooked. The only solution offered by staff was to reheat (presumably microwave) my meal. An offer I declined as even though that may have brought the food up to a more acceptable temperature it clearly would not have improved the taste or quality of the meat. Apparently it is a policy of the house not to issue any refunds so I was presented with a full bill once I finally gave up trying to force myself to eat any more of the tastless rubbish.

Good roasts are hard to come by sometimes but The Victory is close to perfect. All of the trimmings and well cooked there is nothing to complain about. I would recommend booking as it is popular but if the staff are very friendly and will tend to find a table if they can. We were offered a table for a few hours later which was incredibly helpful from the manager.

The meals were both tepid/cold.The Vegetarian Wellington lacked flavour and tasted like a soggy mush My companion's lamb was similarly cold and very chewy. On being asked if we enjoyed this, I said the above, only to be offered a reheating of said meals - which would not have improved either the flavours or the texture of the meat.

Went here for food and wasn’t disappointed. We had a few of the bowls to share which were lovely especially the Korean chicken wings. Also would recommend the Camembert and the burgers which were so tasty. The staff were very friendly and helpful, tables well spaced out
