About
Tucked away under Brighton Railway Station, Brighton Toy and Model Museum has had many thousand happy visitors since we opened in 1991. Our foyer is a Tourist Information Point, and a first point of call for visitors arriving in Brighton. Inside the museum, you'll find four Victorian arches of working model railway layouts, dolls, construction kits and toys from the Golden Age of Toymaking from the late Nineteenth Century through the 1930s, to the 1950s and '60s. The museum is also a venue – we have a small, intimate space where we host the Toy Museum Folk Club, and we're also an official venue for Brighton Fringe. We take private bookings too, so if you need a space for your corporate event, and you want something different, why not give us a try?

A Treasure trove of nostalgia
Oct 2021
It may be a bot hidden away and small but well worth the walk upand down the slope.it has a brilliant collection of models not just trains for the boys but dols houses and other toys I had over 60 years ago..
If the museum wanted to raise funds a photography evening with the show cases open would be a photographers and model enthusiasts dream

Nostalgic experience

What a lovely and interesting visit, brought back many childhood memories. The main railway layout was understandably only run on special days as theses are very old engines but it was still a joy to see them. It was nice to see that they had set up some layouts with push buttons so as to see many things running. The exhibition was also complete with dolls, teddy's, cars, aeroplanes and all sorts of toys and models to interest both adults and children. The staff were friendly and informative. Many thanks to all. Had a lovely time.

Our visit to Brighton toy museum!
Sep 2021 • Family
It was our first time visiting the Brighton toy museum and my 2 boys loved every minute! We even got in for free as a lovely kind man that visited a while back donated money so others could enjoy it for free. The lady gave the kids stickers, a little game to go round doing so making it extra fun! And they got certificates at the end of our visit, 100% recommend! We will be back for sure ! Thank you x

Thank you for your kind review - it was lovely to meet you and your boys! We really enjoyed being able to pass on the generosity of the man who came into the museum to donate so other people could enjoy the museum too. We look forward to seeing you all again soon! :-)

Really interesting and the kids enjoyed looking for the Lego men. They were particularly interested in the trainsets as well and being able to press the buttons to make the trains go round the tracks.

Charming small museum

Really enjoyed looking round this museum with my two children, who both enjoyed doing the Lego trail to spot Lego mini figures in the dioramas. Nice place to stop off before taking the train back to London on a day out. I would recommend it

Brought back memories

On a short trip to Brighton to se my daughter. She showed me around the town and took me into what she considered the highlights. This was one of them and I really enjoyed the visit. Amused at how many toys from my childhood should now be in museums.
