This was interesting piece of art. It was interesting as we could find Canada on the donut shape. We took pictures thru the hole. On pier so could enjoy view from that area.

It's big and heavy and doesn't do anything. Nor quite what you can say about it except you can look through it from either side

Many people get their photo take beside it. It is not a great attraction really. Certainly nothing special but in a VERY busy seafront location so you can't miss it.

It's a nice spot to check out in summer. Other times it is cold and very windy as it's right next to the sea! But I have been visiting a lot recently as it's a great spot for Pokemon Go. There are 2 PokeStops that are almost always lured so a great spot to catch Pokemon and you do get... More

The doughnut is a fun 'sculpture' on a littel promentary to the West of the pier. On the day we visited, it was rather windy and the sea was rough although people were paddling. The red flags (no swimming) were up on the beach. We walked past the doughnut, through which many people peep at each other to the edge... More

On the end of the Groyne, to the right of the pier, stands an old steel sculpture nicknamed the “Doughnut”. To many this is just another of Brighton’s oddities to capture in a photo as you walk along Brighton’s promenade. However, this steel sculpture is a bronze sculpture called “Afloat” and designed by Hamish Black. It is rumoured to have... More

I believe the sculpture is called Afloat. It was clean with no litter around and is ageing well. Luckily my friend is more knowledgeable than I about sculpture and pointed out the countries (which I hadn't appreciated at first glance). So it is a globe in doughnut form with the continents afloat - maybe. It was just a lovely thing... More

I donut really like it, it's old and rusty and has a manky old tent hanging to it. I'm not really sure what it's purpose is..

Interesting sculpture on the seafront. It's a doughnut shape, (obviously), with cut-outs of various countries. I rather liked it. I guess it wasn't it's fault that someone had tied his tent to it on the seaward side and was still in situ at 9am. Also not it's fault that people had been using the end of the jetty as a... More

The only good thing about this so called art is that allows you to have good views of the surroundings, the pier and the beach. That's it. People called it Donut, yep it does ressemble one or one shell, but that's about it. If you ever pass by it take a pic to show your kids how much art can... More
