Visit North Laine for fun, food and shopping. Especially liked the beer, pizza and vinyl bar, the best pizza I have had in ages.

Visit Gardner Street in particular if you're veggie/vegan. Fave shops to visit are Vegetarian Shoes, The Spice Shop, Infinity Foods health food shop & restaurant down the road, Shakeaway, The Loving Hut. Lots of arty clothes shops etc. Lovely atmosphere.

This area of Brighton is filled with quirky independent outlets that cover a broad range of niche interests and generally diverse offerings. There are several 'gems' to be found and browsing here is a lot more enjoyable than your average high street or mall. Snoopers Attic was a particular favourite on this visit.

A really great place - enjoyed the North Laine better than The Lanes as more diverse and original shops - not designer labels. Great resturants and pubs - real great atmosphere

People often stop me in Brighton early in the morning when I am walking my dog and ask 'Where are The Lanes?' I always query whether it is 'The Lanes' or North Laine they are really looking for.
