An afternoon wander

There's something for everyone with a great mix of new and second-hand items for sale. Great to see so many independent businesses thriving. Bravo!

A very nice and interesting mixture of independent shops. There is something for everyone here with book shops, vintage clothes shops and cafes. Nearby is my favourite shop of all time, Collectif.

A much nicer shopping experience than The Lanes. The shops in the North Laine are individual and amazing. Clothing and homeware shops abound, but there are many others too. I love the offbeat goods and easy going atmosphere in the North Laine. Lots of places to stop for food and drink, too. And a great licensed cinema!

Plenty to see and do here, especially when the sun shines. It was very warm the day we wandered about North Lane and it was hopping. There was a brilliant atmosphere in town and I would recommend a visit. We stopped at the Dorset bar for a drink and there are many similar places to stop and eat or drink

The north laines have a different flavour compared to the traditional lanes. They are much wider, more like small streets and full of an assortment of shops and restaurant. The atmosphere is good and you can find unusual shops and places to eat. Rather modern hippie tone, interesting to see.

Went on a gastro-crawl and found many hidden gems in between the cafes. Cute little area and such a nice local feel to it.

A set of streets stretching from Trafalgar Street which leads up to the station and North Road. The best one to wander down is Kensington Gardens with a fudge shop making fudge on site, a pub, Neals Yards and a site called Snoopers Paradise- full of old books , antiques etc. This leads on to a small open area with... A good place to start for anyone visiting to see the quirkiness and diversity of Brighton. The best route from Brighton Station is along Trafalgar street then wander though Sydney Street, Kensington Gardens and it's well worth exploring the side streets in the North Laines too. A feast of street art, tasty food and drink, lots of shops for collectors... More

North Laine is exactly what I had in mind when I think of Brighton's quirky shops and vegan friendly cafes. Wonderful to have a stroll through to pick up some vintage clothes or homeware, or just something a bit different.

With it's quirky shops, and bohemian locals, A visit to The North Laines in Brighton is a must for people watchers. If you love vegetarian food, you will be in heaven. So many restaurants and cafe's catering for vegans, vegetarians and so much variety.
