This area is part of what makes Brighton such a great destination. the North Laine area (not to be confused with the lanes, which is in a different part of town) runs from Trafalgar street through a maze of streets to Church road. There are few chains here, so very different to most towns and cities. there are scores of... More

Walked down from station. People sleeping in doorways. Asked for money. Sat in new road. Groups of street drinkers fighting and swearing. And asking people for more money

A good place to go to find shops that you don't see on the high street with lovely cafes and bars for a coffee or lunch.

People in Brighton raved that we should visit this area. It was interesting, but unless you are into buying antiques I'd pass it by

I love this part of Brighton. When we were kids, we called this part of Brighton, the flea market. This long street has so many good shops in it, it is rather a bit like the Lanes, but long. It has some great hippy shops as well as some great Antiques shops as well. Again, a good place to have... More

The North Lanes have so much to offer. Very bohemian, interesting shops, if you can't find it here, your not looking very well.

Wandering round North Laine's shops, cafes and restaurants is a joy not to be missed and not to be mistaken for The South Lanes (different spelling) either. Both a brilliant experience with different vibes. North Laine is more eclectic, hippyish, quirky, anything goes area and The South Lanes are higglty-pigglty little lanes with lots of jewellery shops, tea rooms. Do... More
