The slightly more edge fringe Brighton. You really need to walk the whole length of St James Street to get the real essence of Brighton life.

Kemptown has a real unique flavour to it. Stunning buildings, loads of independent cafes to get decent cake from then great to wander around a bit more. Really relaxed atmosphere around this area.

We visit Kemptown every time we are in Brighton, we love it because of the independent relaxed feel. With a lot of cafe/bars to enjoy... its a really good place to visit when you are close by.

This area is so eclectic and interesting. Like a small village attached to a city but with incredible and varied architecture. Many good restaurants, cafes and bars. A great place to while away some time.

Having stayed in Kemptown for the past couple of weeks, I must admit to changing my first impression of the place, which was rather negative. It IS noisy at night if you're staying in a B&B locally, but that's because it's so lively and attracts...More

The nerve centre for Pride in early August. U.K. Number One Gay scene. An area of architectural interest. Home of Alice in Wonderland's Lewis Carroll. Plenty of pubs, bars, bakery, restaurants, cafes and flea markets and a few antique shops. A MUST. Highly recommended day...More

Hi cannot advise you really as it depends on your budget. Look for accommodation in Upper Rock Gardens as that is a lovely area. Do not book anything on St James's Street as that is always busy but lovely. If you really want... More

The pavements are quite well negotiable in a wheelchair as the kerbs are dropped at the ends of the roads. Some shops do have disabled access upon request but some are at street level. As the previous person says, Kemptown... More
