- JTJDUnited Kingdom1,041 contributionsBig complex…The marina is a big, big complex with lots of shops, restaurants, supermarket & apartments. It’s very pleasant to wander around, look at the sea/boats & stop to get bite to eat. We arrived there on foot but it did look like there was lots of car parking available.Visited May 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten August 11, 2023
- Robin S31 contributionsGone down hillThis place used to be one of the better wetherspoons more expensive but worth it. Now we couldn't believe how much it's gone downhill since our last visit two years ago. All the outside was fenced off and the whole experience of it being something special was goneVisited September 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten September 21, 2023
- Lorraine CHebden Bridge, United Kingdom44 contributionsPretty awful placeWe were in Brighton for the day and had been recommended the marina, so got a bus along the front. What a disappointing place. Rubbish for pedestrians, trying to navigate through the massive car park. Utterly soulless place, seemed run down and just populated by food chains, a huge ugly multi storey and it felt like being in a concrete nightmare tbh. Wouldn't bother going again.Visited November 2023Traveled with familyWritten November 3, 2023

Shame on you Brighton marina estate office. Six weeks into lockdown residents have not moved their cars as per government advice, don’t drive unless totally necessary. Most cars have flat batteries which will be dealt with once lockdown is over, yet on sunday3rd of may Brighton security decided to pcn all the cars in v bays owned by residents nice one.

Very poor, unfriendly customer service. DL Brighton website clearly stated opening hour at 7am this morning. Staff arrived 7.20 and said not opening until 8am. Showed staff DL website and opening hours. Still would not let me and others in. No apologies given. About 20 people who had arrived for published opening time left in disgust. Poor management and poor customer service.

The lure boat, well what an excellent days fishing thanx to Ian the skipper, for taking us out and helping us to catch my first bass and teaching my son to lure fish whom smashed the days fishing with 3/4 bass and 3/4 mackerel. Ian is an awesome guide who knows his stuff and is a great laugh from the start, he made my son feel so welcome on his boat and spent a good amount of time helping him to catch fish. really couldn't have asked for a better skipper a day out. thanx again to Ian.

Wetherspoons Brighton Marina.
Brighton Marina itself is lovely, over the years we have visited all the food establishments in the marina and Wetherspoons many a time.
Yesterday 15th October 2020 we once again visited Wetherspoons for a family meal of four guests.
The food arrived and was:
1: Incorrect
2: Absolutely disgusting
The food lacked what we had ordered.
The steak was cooked not to requirement and far too pink, the meat itself rubbery / chewy and the extra peppercorn sauce can only be described as engine oil.
So much so, my wife left all her steak and could not eat it, even after scrubbing the peppercorn sauce off.
The Tennessee chicken burgers we ordered, were overcooked and clearly reheated many times before serving.
Parts of it I could not even cut through with the cutlery and therefore no chance of chewing it.
Overall disgusting visit, and we WILL NOT ever visit Wetherspoons Brighton Marina ever again.
Im not sure what has happened with the chain but yesterday was a turning point for us.

We enjoyed the Boadwalk with its restaurants etc., but the weather did not induce us to explore to far and we quickly found ourselves a table for lunch.
The shopping area adjacent to the large Asda Supermarket was disappointing to say the least. Both my wife and I expected more of the usual retail outlets but that was not the case. A large luggage shop sticks in the mind but little else. Not a shoppers paradise by any means.
We arrived and departed by bus from the centre of Brighton. Good service on the No. 7 that runs to and from the centre of Brighton every 15 minutes or so.
There is a large multi storey car park and another attached to Asda. We would come again in better weather to explore more of the Boardwalk and Marina areas

Get a new chef!! Dirty place! Floor and tables sticky! Food awful. Salad bar run down and un interesting. I had simply chicken.. the jacket potato was reheated and old the vegetables (beans) uncooked. My husband had fish and chips and that was hardly worth eating. The fish looked undercooked... Very bad quality.
It has got to be the worst harvester we have been to. Usually I would complain if the meal is bad as I have been in catering but this time I couldn't wait to get out of this place. I only ate the chicken which was the only edible thing on the plate... We went in on the offchance and the place was empty. If the quality of the food was like this at a quiet time what on earth would it be like when it was supposedly going to be busy. Best give it a miss!

Many people like a walk along the breakwaters but recently they have been closed. Fishermen too cannot fish. To make a point - 25th January was the calmest sea I have seen all year, yet both breakwaters were closed for no apparent reason. Just not good enough.

The walk from Brighton to the marina seemed like a good idea but it’s a really gritty walk into the marina itself, though a building site and, worse, a series of unpleasant car parks and blank concrete structures . The operators have made no effort to make it attractive or even to signpost it well for pedestrians. When you get there it’s lined by unattractive chain restaurants and empty shops. My advice - avoid.

We walked here from Brighton (about a mile and a half each way) but it really wasn’t worth the effort. Lots of chain restaurants and faded seaside attractions. Nice to walk along and look at the boats but you can’t walk along the harbour wall as it’s all closed for maintenance and there’s a lot of building work going on around the car park area (which is very ugly and concretey).

I came to this restaurant Saturday it was full of friendly staff who, while keeping to covid standards, were bright and bubbly and at pains to ensure that we had a good time. Our server Sharon was fantastic! She was a ray of sunshine! She was chatty, patient and went all out to make us comfortable. The only thing that could have been better was that there were many seats available and as a table of two we wanted to chat but were seated next to a hen party. It was a little difficult to hear each other at times, however, we had not made a reservation so next time, I think we would. My daughter and I loved the food, it was well presented and very tasty. Would definitely recommend people come here! Sharon made the visit for us. I've never had such a brilliant waitress!

Do you mean the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run? This is on November 4th. It finishes on Madiera Drive between the pier and the Marina, not in the Marina itself.

How much is it on the bus from the marina to Churchill square?
Fran M
Brighton, United Kingdom42 contributions
A single trip is £2:50 but it is much better value to get a day saver for £5 as this allows you to travel on any bus all day and make as many journeys as you want to. There is also a daily family ticket available but I'm not sure of the cost. You buy your ticket on the bus from the driver, they do give change so the exact money is not necessary but they don't like changing large denomination notes for a single fare. The best bus to get from the Marina to Churchill Square is the number 7.
