I love this historic old theatre. We've seen some great actors here over the years so the chance to see Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart in No Man's Land was not to be missed (though we nearly did as it was almost sold out when I booked). We got several emails from the theatre management in the days before the... More

This is a lovely little theatre that puts on some really great productions. I have seen Under Milk Wood, Tosca, The Father and last night I saw No Man's Land. All have been brilliant. However, last night was very hot and they weren't able to keep the aircon on without drowning out the actors, meaning everyone was roasting! Apart from... More

Visited here for a packed out matinee performance. It was really hot weather and this poor theatre just couldn't cope. I spotted a mobile air conditioning unit in the foyer but there was nothing in the auditorium itself and I'm surprised no one passed out as it was so so hot . Not ideal for an elderly audience. Seats have... More

I visited the Theatre Royal for a show with Sir Ian McKellan and Patrick Stewart both acting, so what I got was a very well acted performance. All the staff were very good, friendly and polite. The ticket value was also good, the only thing that let the experience down was the temperature. As its an old Theatre, they do... More

We visited this theatre yesterday (24th August). Admitedly we are having a heat wave but the theatre has no air conditioning. As a apology they were offering free cold water. A poor attempt to this shortcoming they had installed some basic form of cooling that was ineffective AND made the other theatre feature worse, namely sound. The theatre has no... More

No Man's Land was brilliant but the whole experience was undermined by incredibly high temperatures in the Royal Circle which meant sweat was poring off me by the end of the show. By the end I was feeling in a real state due to the extreme heat and complete lack of cool air. Even if I had been wearing just... More

Visited yesterday for the first time to see No Man's Land. The play itself was brilliant but the whole experience was let down by the fact that there is no air conditioning and it was unbearably hot in the Royal Circle. The seats are also very cramped but you could put up with that if there was some air circulating!... More

I attended this theatre twice to see Busted_Musical "What I Went to School For" which was performed by the extremely talented cast of WMTUK, outstandingly on both occasions . The staff at this theatre are extremely friendly and helpful. The drinks are a little over priced so make sure you have plenty of money. The lighting is very good and... More

Came to Brighton to see the "What I go to school for " show by the YMTUK group and I have to say it was fantastic, the theatre is a beautiful place, clean and comfy seating. Friendly staff. Slightly over priced bar but I think that's kind of expected. Would definitely visit again, lots of local clubs bars and good... More
