Lovely to read the plaques on the boards. Beautiful views from the pier. The staff taking the money were so helpful!

There is a small charge to walk along the pier. There are none of your usual touristy attractions on the pier so it is nice and quiet and nice to walk along and admire the view.

What a beautiful pier! Perfect for strolling above the waves, basking in the sun, or stringing a line to miss some fish. Oh, and there's always a boat trip to enjoy, out across the bay and around Old Harry to Poole. Superbly maintained, this is a must for discerning visitors to swanky Swanage.

We caught the boat to Poole from here which was great. The pier itself has a lot of history and is lovely. There is a lovely cafe on the pier and you can so do me water sports as well. Plenty of seating so you and admire the view and the sunset!

On our first visit to Swanage, we walked the pier and took advantage of the pier history tour which was so good. All run by volunteers, they where so knowledgeable about not only the pier but Swanage in general, and so enthusiastic. A truly charming place to visit, with a cafe offering delicious food and great coffee. Next day we took the boat to Poole which went from the pier. Well organised and very friendly. Make this your destination when visiting Swanage.

Found all the hundreds of plaques on the decking very interesting to look at. There was information about the different shipwrecks and there were lots of divers ready to go out.

We all visited last week 10/09/21 whilst on our holidays, An old fashioned, old English seaside wooden pier. A small charge is payable but this is directly invested into the pier's maintenance, so a small price to pay to keep our seaside heritage alive.
The all round views are wonderful and what was especially lovely, were the thousands of 'named' brass name plates that were fitted into the wooden floor beams.
Typical seaside metal benches and booths are situated along.
We liked it, so did the fishermen that were 'bream' fishing off the pier :)

Not much to see or do on Swanage pier other than walk it and take in the views of the bay. And for that you’ll have to pay for pier tickets or head to the 1859 cafe which means you don’t need to pay for admission. A couple of boat cruises depart from the end and a diving/watersports company also use the pier where you can hire items from.

I had a very fun time with friends fishing on the pier, catching a variety of species. The staff were very friendly, and the entrance fee was a very affordable £1.50 for a childs ticket
