I booked this for myself and my fiance over a month in advance to make sure we got the time and date we wanted. It's £40 for one person for 3 hours, which may seem like a lot, but hiring kayaks from the beach costs more and doesn't have the luxury of a tour guide! Life jackets are supplied, so no need to worry about drowning. Our guide Paul was fantastic, teaching us how to control the kayak (I must admit, I was awful for the first 15 minutes and got quite wet, especially after a wave dragged my kayak out of the bay!) and then telling us about the history of the area. We even did a spot of fishing, although we left without anything for dinner. One recommendation - wear clothes you don't mind getting wet, and if you haven't kayaked before and think you may be awful, take a windbreaker or something to put on once you're out of the water (we put any valuables in the van, but I didn't bring a jacket and regretted it!) as it's likely to be pretty chilly! All in all, a wonderful, fun experience.

our weather was not the finest, but our instructor and guide Jim provided much entertainment and enthusiasm. Brilliant activity and would definitely recommend the company for kayaking.

If this review seems a little familiar, I put this review under the coasteering one aswell by mistake.... We are just back from a group kayaking trip with Land and Wave. We had a fabulous time mainly thanks to our instructor Anne-Marie and the glorious sunshine. Initially we didn't think paddling around Swanage Bay would be that challenging but with a strong wind and current it was hard work and enough of a challenge for us. The best fun was a game of Kayak polo between two teams which brought out the competitive side of most of us. I felt Anne-Marie gauged the group really well and she just did not stop smiling throughout. Usually we like a bit of male totty to instruct us (all female group, you know, something to talk about) but we would definitely ask for her again. She periodically called us together to give us additional tips so we didn't have to remember everything from what was told at the beginning and she build up our skill level. We are already thinking of another trip with Land and Wave. Overall came across as as a competent and very helpful company (we have been away with other companies and this is a good 'un).

Thanks so much for a great morning out on the water! I booked for me and my boyfriend to go out kayaking as a birthday surprise for him, and we both really loved it - fantastic way to enjoy the Dorset coast from a different vantage point, and even though I am not great in the water I felt really safe with the experienced instructors - would recommend this to anyone!

Despite the chilly weather we had a fantastic day kayaking around the Jurassic Coast. The session was well-organised and ran smoothly and the instructors were first rate! Fun, enthusiastic and knowledgeable, they turned a great day into a brilliant one! I will definitely use Dorset Kayaking again!!
