Fantastic place, absolutely stunning and £6 seems a great price. Spent about 2 hours dawdling around with the dog and we both had a great time. Would be 5* if the dog could come into the tea rooms so I could have enjoyed some lunch there too but next time we will bring a picnic.

We look forward to welcoming you back very soon. Most of our visitors and myself tie our dogs up on the railings outside the tearoom and pop in and bring our coffee outside and either sit in the sunken garden or my favourite place is on a table by the Orangery. Sadly, we only allow assistance dogs into the Tearoom... More

Had a really wonderful day exploring the castle grounds today. Fully dog friendly as long as your furry friends are kept on leads. The grounds are absolutely stunning! Capability Brown designed with all his classic rolling vistas, lots of little treats to discover along your walk and plenty of picnic spots dotted about. We combined the long and short routes... We look forward to seeing you soon and showing you the interior of Castle. We have a new exhibition in the Cellar Museum on Capability Brown which draws on our archives to tell Brown's story of his involvement with the Gardens and the family. I think this might interest you. Thanks for vistiing us and for writing a lovely review. More

The grounds are simply stunning and there are some beautiful walks to admire the views of the lake, the castle and the lovely countryside surrounding it. The walks are suitable for all ages and the grounds at the back include a huge soft lawn, which is perfect for a sit down, or the odd cartwheel! The castle itself is also... More

The fact that the Digby family still live on the estate gives Sherborne Castle a "real" feeling. The fact that it was once Walter Raleigh's home adds to the history. The castle is distinctive in its difference to other castles we have seen. The people working there displayed great knowledge which they imparted in an interesting way. Would highly recommend... Family friendly and accessible. We had a great day out at this historical venue. Beautiful gardens and a superb range of exhibits inside the castle. We even walked past the owners who were just charming. Definitely worth a visit and fantastic value for money.
