The Walled Garden is a beautiful five-acre landscaped formal garden situated in Moreton, Dorset.A wide variety of perennial plants sit in the boarders, which have been styled in original Georgian and Victorian designs. For the past 4 years, these have been planted and cared for by our Head Gardener Tim and his team. Lovely gardens to wander around, interesting sculptures and different areas to sit and just be. We had coffee and sandwiches and they were all tasty and reasonably priced.

We often stay at Warmwell, so will be back again next year

The Walled garden was a gem to find after visiting Studland Bay while on our way back to Dorchester.
Free to enter but we used the donation box to do the right thing before entering the cafe for hot drinks.
It was wonderful to see that The Walled garden at Moreton is fully involved with an education system for young adults, of which these young people have the opportunity to be part of the organisation of everyday activiites both inside the cafe and outside within the garden.
Beautiful, larger than expected garden with sculptures placed throughout and a small wooded trail.
Good facilities, very friendly staff and volunteers- wonderful feeling, that air of serendipity...

The garden was very nice, had tea and cake at the cafe. Must say very disappointed with the cake. Not displayed very well, all wrapped up in clingfilm. I had coffee and walnut I think? Quite stale. Wouldn’t recommend it.

We're sorry the cake wasn't to your standard. The cakes are freshly made every couple of days and are wrapped in cling film inline with our hygiene policy. You'll note this isn't common feedback so we can only apologise again it wasn't what you would expect. Many thanks.

I've visited multiple times this year with various friends and family members, and only have good things to say about The Walled Garden. Food in the café is excellent. The gardens are gorgeous and work is being done to clear the square garden at the moment - can't wait to see that planted up. Small selection of animals for kids to see. I love coming here

Actually the garden was very nice, but I was on a long cycle tour by myself staying in the adjacent camping ground !!!

I went to the cafe at 8.50am for breakfast when they opened at 9. Chap in cafe said they didnt open til 9 (which I knew) but I checked that they did breakfast. Anyhow, happily sat around for 10 mins til opening in which time 3 or 4 more cafe staff arrived and said hello. At 9 and got told breakfast not available til 10. They could have blooming well told me, ffs. Could have done without the delay getting on the road to find somewhere else to eat as was v.hungry. 5 staff on, youd think that they could have sorted a breakfast, I was the only customer :-(

And as for the camping next door (I dont think its run by the same folk), its probably good value for a family group etc, but they hit me for £20 full pitch charge for quick overnight head down 1 person in a micro sized tent, which felt a bit of a rip off especially as fees were collected in a shiny new Range rover. B&B next time.

Hi John, We don't organise the camping next door. Our food serving times are clearly stated on our website but we will pass on this message to staff to ensure they communicate this properly next time. Many thanks.

The walled garden is a great find. Plenty to do for everyone, play area and animals for children. There's a small shop with take away drinks and snacks also a very good cafe for meals which are excellent.

It’s not often nowadays that a location like this just asks for a donation for entry! Such a lovely garden with something to please a range of age groups. The gardens themselves are well kept sand beautiful. There is a lovely play park for the kids with a few animals for them to see - the highlight was the free roaming chickens that quite liked a stroke! There is an on-site cafe and ice cream van - these were very busy and the service was slow but I think this was due to staff issues due to Covid 😔. Once we got the ice creams they were delicious and the lady serving you was very kind and polite and not phased by the business. There is also a lovely ford nearby that you can paddle in which was a real treat. My daughters although a bit older loved the dinosaur trail, although we didn’t complete it they dipped in and out of it and the dinosaurs looked great hidden in the gardens. Great place well be back to again.

Excellent morning at the Walled Gardens doing the dinosaur hunt. My children absolutely loved it. They loved seeing the animals and playing in the play area. The toilets were very clean. There was sanitiser around to use. Staff were polite and friendly. Would highly recommend a visit and I will definitely be going back.

I can't believe they only ask for a donation on entry!
I love visiting Moreton with it's gorgeous ford to paddle in and all its historical significance. But the Walled Gardens is a real gem. It's beautiful and peaceful and so well cared for. There is a cafe that do a fantastic breakfast. There's a children's play park in which chickens roam free, and really don't seem to mind being around people.
At the moment, there's this fab dinosaur trail for kids which I could see the families were really enjoying. My girls are a bit older so had fun chasing around the Maize maze.
I must just mention that there is an ice cream van on site that have some very interesting flavours!!
It really is worth a visit for the day and the donation goes to a good cause too.
We'll be back again soon.
