Due to deep water NO CHILDREN UNDER 14 years of age and NO DOGS are allowed. We are open Monday to Sunday, 11am to 5pm. Entry is £10 per person and entry to The Gallery is free. Described as one of the most beautiful and unique sculpture parks in the United Kingdom, Sculpture by the Lakes marries the soft beauty of nature's wild river landscape with the more formal presentation of monumental outdoor sculpture. It is that combination of art and landscape that inspires Sculpture by the Lakes. Whether it is work on a monumental scale that relates to its environment, or smaller works, the sculptures of Simon Gudgeon are perfectly placed in the delicately nurtured natural landscape to visually enhance their surroundings. The effect is a balance, a harmony of form and context where the experience is central. Without walls, without interpretation, each person can engage with the art and the ever-changing environment.

Visited Sculpture by the Lakes following a recomendation from a friend & it certainly didn't disappoint. The grounds are beautiful, a real haven of tranquility. It was great to get up close and touch some of the magnificent sculptures. My teenage children enjoyed it every bit as much as my husband & I did. We took a picnic as there... More

Thanks to trip adviser we went to this first class attraction the entrance fee is £10.00 each but don't let this put you off. This is Heaven with beautiful landscaping works of Art blending in seamlessly with the calming, tranquil lakes. I would recommend taking a picnic as the only thing to eat is Purbeck pots of ice cream. You... More

We found out about this attraction through Trip Advisor and so glad we did. It's everything people write about it - tranquil, stunning location and wonderful sculptures. Do take a picnic (we didn't) because you can then extend your stay and really enjoy this wonderful location (be aware only bottled water and ice-cream are available to buy on site). It... More

This is truly a one off experience as far as i am concerned. the landscaping that has been done is inspiring and the sculpture blows me away. This was my second visit and yet still i found things to delight and inspire. come with time on your hands, bring a picnic and relax in some of the most beautiful spaces.

Very much enjoyed our visit - loved the concept of sculptures in a such a wonderful outdoor environment.. The planting is wonderful. Plenty of quiet spots in which to picnic or just sit and look.

What an amazing place , a fantastic find! Don't be put off by the entrance fee, yes it is a bit steep but you won't be disappointed allow at least two hours to see everything. We chatted to the gardener, can't praise the sympathetic planting enough. We will be back and hire either the Island or one of the other... More

Last Sunday eight of us enjoyed the most beautiful, and tranquil day at this wonderful place. Our friend Kim gave us a voucher for Christmas and had booked 'The Pavilion' for the day (one of several hideaway spots to hire), where we could base ourselves for our picnic 'banquet' whilst we spent the day walking around the lovely gardens and... Take a step back relax and just breath in the peacefulness ,fresh air and bird song. Now walk around the most amazing sculptures . Viewings them from different angles over the lake ,in the lake, round corners . So much thought has gone into their placement. Don't leave Dorset without seeing this amazing place.

This is one of the most peaceful places you will find in Dorset. The Island hut is available to hire for the day and provides a secret hideaway, a perfect private place for a picnic and to watch the abundant wildlife. Simon Gudgeon's sculptures are both beautiful and tactile and are very carefully positioned around the park to show them... More

The exhibits are brilliant and we even got to chat to the owner at the end. Like the fact that its a kid free zone too.Go and see... More
