Due to deep water NO CHILDREN UNDER 14 years of age and NO DOGS are allowed. We are open Monday to Sunday, 11am to 5pm. Entry is £10 per person and entry to The Gallery is free. Described as one of the most beautiful and unique sculpture parks in the United Kingdom, Sculpture by the Lakes marries the soft beauty of nature's wild river landscape with the more formal presentation of monumental outdoor sculpture. It is that combination of art and landscape that inspires Sculpture by the Lakes. Whether it is work on a monumental scale that relates to its environment, or smaller works, the sculptures of Simon Gudgeon are perfectly placed in the delicately nurtured natural landscape to visually enhance their surroundings. The effect is a balance, a harmony of form and context where the experience is central. Without walls, without interpretation, each person can engage with the art and the ever-changing environment.

We went to Sculpture by the Lakes for a special exhibition but found the place amazing. We hired the River Keeper's Hut for the day which meant we had somewhere we could leave a picnic and with a wood-burning stove it was cosy and warm for morning coffee, lunch and afternoon tea. Thoroughly recommended.

I booked The Riverkeepers for my husband and I to have some time out and recharge our batteries. I was not at all disappointed. The wood burner was lit, tea lights lit on the table, quality furniture and a fleece blanket to snuggle under. The environment was relaxing, especially with the babbling water right alongside. Perfect day and made especially... More

What a beautiful place to visit, I went there with a couple of friends specifically to take photographs of Simon Gudgeon's beautiful sculptures, which are extremely good. The lakes are very peaceful and quiet with only the birds to disturb the silence. Although I went there in middle February it was still a lovely place to walk and spend time... More

I visited the site with two friends specifically to photograph the sculptures. We were met by a lady who couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. She gave us a briefing about the venue and a detailed plan of the site. The statues are beautiful and have been sited with a lot of thought and care. The whole park is... More

I Loved my visit to the Lakes. What a beautiful, peaceful place and the sculptures were amazing. I took some fabulous photos and have shared with my friends on social media and highly recommend they visit. Can't wait to come back and hire the pavilion with my family for the day in the summer.

A lovely place can easily get lost physically and visually. Nice for a sunny day, costs £10 per person. Lots of sculptures. Lots of area to walk. The only downside is that to buy any of the sculptures even small is very expensive.

This is my number one attraction. Beautifully landscaped and a perfect setting for the magnificent sculptures. Take a picnic and rent the caravan overlooking the lake - its a dream come true!

We went to visit sculpture by the lakes last weekend and found it a beautiful place to visit. The sculptures were fantastic and are all set around a beautiful lake which is well worth visiting. There is also the option of renting out the small island in the middle of the lake or a pavilion set on the river bank... More
