Due to deep water NO CHILDREN UNDER 14 years of age and NO DOGS are allowed. We are open Monday to Sunday, 11am to 5pm. Entry is £10 per person and entry to The Gallery is free. Described as one of the most beautiful and unique sculpture parks in the United Kingdom, Sculpture by the Lakes marries the soft beauty of nature's wild river landscape with the more formal presentation of monumental outdoor sculpture. It is that combination of art and landscape that inspires Sculpture by the Lakes. Whether it is work on a monumental scale that relates to its environment, or smaller works, the sculptures of Simon Gudgeon are perfectly placed in the delicately nurtured natural landscape to visually enhance their surroundings. The effect is a balance, a harmony of form and context where the experience is central. Without walls, without interpretation, each person can engage with the art and the ever-changing environment.

Plan on spending the day or at least the afternoon and maybe take a picnic to make the entrance fee worth it. We only had time to stay about 90 mins and that is not long enough. Some beautiful sculptures in a lovely peaceful setting.

Queued to get in - small queue but glad we got there early as became quiet popular and it was great to walk around this quite extensive area and view these large sculptures on our own. Reasonable sized car park. Toilet facilities. No cafe but ice cream/drinks available. Galley with smaller quality pieces to buy though naturally expensive. Plan given... More

The post code worked perfectly in our sat nav. We were blown away by the combination of tasteful landscaping and beautiful imaginative sculptures - mostly bronze. Around every corner was a new surprise. We picnicked in the grounds before we walked. We had lovely sunshine all day. Only down side is that children under 14 are not allowed nor dogs.... More

This must be heaven on earth! Wonderful pieces of sculpture in amongst nature itself giving people the opportunity to view these stunning pieces of art strategically placed throughout the gardens and lake. ( look out for the two exquisite golden swans and TIME TO REFLECT sculptures sitting on the lake if you visit this magical place) The paths weave you... More

Located a few miles out of Dorchester, the journey was well worth visiting the Sculptures by the Lake. It is wonderfully tranquil, very pretty, restful and the sculptures are truly magnificent - I don't think I have ever experienced anything like this before. The staff are so welcoming, friendly and helpful and the whole place is really well maintained. We... More

This beautiful park is hidden away, its the grounds of the house of artist Simon Gudgeon. Set around some small lakes his large sculptures are displayed. They are beautiful works of art in a beautiful setting. Few people seem to know about it because its tucked away, in the whole time we were there we only saw maybe 6-8 other... More

Had a lovely visit here, enjoying a picnic and a wander around the lakes admiring the stunning sculptures. No children under 14, no cafe but all the better for it. Lots of hidden places for a picnic.

We travelled along picturesque lanes to arrive at this breathtaking place. The staff on arrival were helpful explaining where everything is situated and offered maps and refreshments of water; it was a very hot day! The sculptures are extraordinary set in beautifully designed areas to elevate each piece. A serine, colourful and absorbing place that we didn't want to leave.

If you like tranquility this is for you, sculptures are amazing in their garden and lakeside settings. The only thing missing is a cafe, advisable to take picnic if you want to stay a long time, lots of seating around grounds. No children allowed!

Thank Reng D
