If you want to spend time relaxing, get away from technology (phones, games consoles etc) or noise of traffic, you could do worse than spend time at Hengistbury Head. There is a large fee-charging car park, so parking is not a problem. A lovely cafe serving hot or cold drinks and snacks and light meals, where you can sit inside... More

Walking through the nature reserve and to the top of the cliffs is a must! Very windy, but amazing views! There are several informative posters about the area, detailing its history back to the stone age and the animals that previously / currently live there. Would recommend to families and couples.

Lots to do and see on the beach. Plenty of little shops around the beach with activities for the children. Various entertainment going on during the Summer months including firework displays.

The walk to Hengistbutry Head is wonderful with stunning views across to the Isle of Wight. Once there take time to pop into the Visitor centre which is a great place for children and adults alike. A short walk further takes you along the sandy path towards the ferry to Mudeford. Great views with a cafe and toilets. Be sure... More

Walk either along promenade or cliff top from Boscombe pier (1 hour stroll) to reach exquisite beach with stunning views and fascinating nature reserve. If you enjoy solitude away from the crowds this is the place for you.

Hengistbury Head near Bournemouth in Dorset provides families with both coastal and inland river swimming opportunities for the family. My walk with the wife (our golden retriever regrettably no longer with us) saw us park up at the Solent Meads golf course (unlimited free parking) before strolling along behind the golf course towards the Head. A brief stop at the... More

Massive car park, easy walking along the marshes and to the sea plus a land train to bring you back if you are tired. You can park for free on the road if you are willing to walk just a little further. Let's not forget the excellent par 3 golf course adjacent. My thought is that if you are on... More
