On my first visit to Totnes, we popped in here for a look around. I'm glad we did! It's very quaint with some interesting local information. The best thing is the building itself, deceptively large! The displays are great, it's free entry and the guy working at reception was really friendly. They rely solely on donations to keep going, so please show your support. As it's on 3 different levels, it wouldn't be suitable for buggies and wheelchairs.

Hello, thank you so much for your feedback regarding Totnes Museum,, we are so pleased you enjoyed your visit. You are quite right our building is larger than it looks from the outside. We do rely on the generosity of our Visitors to keep the Museum open so thank you for your support in highlighting this. Sadly due to the nature of our building we are not wheelchair friendly other than the ground floor and the garden, however, buggies can be left in the shop area, and the little one taken on a tour of the Museum. May I thank you again for taking the time to give us your feedback. regards, Kate. Museums Custodian

From the outside, one would never guess what a treasure trove this is - so much to see, read and learn about. From Elizabethan lifestyles to Victorian nurseries, pharmacies and kitchen, to mechanical clocks and so much more. It is the sort of place one could go to again and again - and still find things you had missed. Amazingly, admission is free and relies on donations. A wonderful bargain.
