We were staying very nearby, so it was a good walk through for us- however it was unfortunately overgrown and not very pretty. Good views though.

Quite a number of steps to climb so if you are up for the challenge, the views at the top are worth it. Beautiful at night with the lights, so worth a visit both day and night.

Ok, there are lots of steps. It's little bit of work but it is definitely worth the effort. It was so good that we did it on 2 different occasions. I think the best time to visit is around sunset. The, steps are lit in the blue lighting adding to the atmosphere. As the sun sets, you get the orange in the sky. From the top, the night view is lovely and relaxing. Seats are available at the top if you want to take a break before walking back down again. It's a great way to walk off dinner. Well worth a visit. Recommended. On the times we visited, because it is the evening, there were always parking spaces but remember to bring change as you still have to pay.

These Royal Terrace Gardens are amply stacked full of Mediterranean plants that over look the Marina towards Torre Abbey Sands
If your feeling rather fit you may chose to climb up the 100's of Blue slightly elevated illuminated steps towards the top of
the viewing platforms giving you outstanding views of the whole of Torbay harbour

The rock gardens had a major refurbishment a few years ago, including the installation of steps direct from the promenade to the top of the cliff. This must have been very expensive, and the existing access at the east end between the Palms amusement arcade and the Fleet Walk car park is unsigned and looks like a blind alley from the road! The east and west accesses are far less strenuous than the new steps too. Explored the walk for the first time today, the cliffs are just a mass of brambles, no doubt Torbay Council can't afford to maintain it, the Torbay Council that is too small to function economically to function as a unitary, Exeter had a close escape there! There are great views from the top path, which are well worth the visit.

Really lovely clever planting and a wonderful ambience- well worth crossing the road from the Princess theatre and taking in the planting and at night the blue lit staircase to heaven !

A nice walk away from the sea front. Interesting plants along the path. Benches every now and then to have a rest. The only downside is the constantly moving traffic in front especially at the weekend, but a favourite of ours.

Great walk up and beautiful plants and foliage along with amazing colours. Benches at half way up to sit and watch the world go by.

We visited here around 21:10 at night, and it still wasn't quite dark then. We parked at the bottom, where there is pay and display parking, which to be honest didn't cost much. The steps were already lit up a nice blue colour and we took our time walking up and taking in the views as we went. There are seats in different points on the way up but to be honest we didn't find it that hard or steep, although there are a lot of steps to walk up and then back down again. We probably should have come here when it was little darker, to really appreciate the lights in the steps and views of Torquay at night. I would recommend this, it really does give you some fantastic views of Torquay.
