We stopped in here on the way home from a long weekend in the area as my husband had seen a sign for it on our previous visit and was keen to see what it was like. The lady on the ticket desk was friendly and explained the route around the building to us. The exhibits are amazingly detailed and... More

Looking for something to do on a rainy afternoon, then this is well worth a visit. Albeit a little cluttered in places, the items they have are very interesting. It was quiet when we visitited and we were able to look round at our leisure. I can imagine it to be a little less relaxing at busy periods.

it is a good history tool for children. and it is good for the elderly if they want to remember the good old days. that is as long as they are able bodied. it is no good for anyone with a walking frame or scooter. It is housed over two floors with no lift.

Many thanks for your visit. It is with regret that we are unable to have a lift fitted due to the nature of the building. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused. We do offer a special ground floor only rate however to be able to experience the various sights and smells of the life-size Victorian street! More

Whether you are young or older this is a must view for all ages. Those who grew up in this era will love to reminisce and the younger ones can see how hard life was in the times of their parents and grandparents. So much time and care has been put in to get the theme just right and so... More

Our friend took us in for coffee and although we had visited before a few years ago, my husband and I wanted to see this fascinating attraction. We would thoroughly recommend a visit, the trouble is we could remember many of the artifacts which shows our age. Well done to the family for what is a very well organised exhibition... More

Expensive entrance fee, around £10 an adult. Quite a lot of old freaky looking manikins dressed up in old fashioned clothes. Took under half an hour to look round, definitely not worth the money, even with 10% discount used. If you can get in for under £5 then maybe worth getting out the rain for an hour. Not pushchair friendly,... More

We are sorry to hear you do not feel your visit was worthwhile. Most of our visitors stay an hour, some many hours! It is with regret that due to the nature of the building and fire regulations pushchairs cannot be used on the 2nd/3rd levels. Apologies for this. More

Very interesting and well worth the money. I was amazed at the amount of Victoriana exhibits and how people used to live. There is also an interesting section on first world war.

I visited with my Mum and brother. Mum has visited three times now and loves it. Bruce and I are in our 50s and were most excited by the exhibits on the top floor. You have to have an interest in history and historic items otherwise you'll find thus attraction rather pricey.

This is a really interesting place to take your family, it is packed with loads of bits of our own living history, The whole place has been cleverly set around a Victorian street, to replicate the sights and smells and there are shops filled with old gadgets, packaging clothing everything really, how they've collected I have no idea. admittedly the...
