A really lovely surprise , a lovely little village and quaint shops and houses . The cricket green and the gardens were so well tended and we enjoyed the shop that various artists and crafts people can display goods.
Cockington is such a little find.
Having recently moved to Torquay, the family and I ventured out towards Paignton, until we found ourselves on a quaint little broad-walk within a woodland and wetland meadow heading into Cockington. I was so surprised with what we found....More
Lovely and quaint village at the edge of Torquay. The Old Forge is a must and Cockington Court is a treasure trove of wonderful crafts.
I spend many hours walkinf aroynd here, and have various items( quite inexpensive ) to show for it.
We visited this country park as we had read reviews of the Devonshire Tea and we were not disappointed. There were lovely walks around the village which had many thatched roofs, shops and working workshops. Lovely trip out.
Came on the bus fom Torquay, and walked around the village, quite spread out. Saw the water wheel. Most of the houses are tourist shops or tea shops, it killed an hour, not much of interest, or did we miss it?
Not as far as we know, but there is a single decker bus disguised as a little train, which goes through the streets from the beach, past Torre Abbey. Cannot say exact route but you will be able to ask in Torquay.
