I went to this establishment last week and as it is surrounded in an estate I was apprehensive but instead I was greeted with welcoming greetings and very nice cold beer I would highly recommend a visit.

Still looks its age. Built when people drive to pubs and drank bland branded beers and lagers. Hasn't really thrown off that image. In the depths of huge outer suburban housing estates. Ought to be able to pull in the locals because there are few close choices. Needs regeneration and rejuvenation.

This place has new people managing and is been done up. We were pleasantly surprised when we visited the other day after a few years. It's much nicer than it used to be. We'll be back to text the carvery!

My wife, granddaughter and myself had a lovely carvery.my wife and myself had the roast beef, which we thoroughly enjoyed. My granddaughter had the beef and turkey, she said the turkey was really nice. We all had pudding,my wife had the Apple pie which she said was one of the best she'd had. I had the treacle pudding which was really good. The Falstaff has recently been taken over by Chris,Lisa and Sue,we found them to be really friendly and polite. We will definitely be going back.

Katie J is a bit hard on the Falstaff which needs encouragement rather than being labelled terrible. Everything is compartive. It is a dull building probably from the late 50s that from two sides looks like a derelict building from beside an isolated WWII fighter aerodrome. It is on the fringe of a mix of light industry and dense outer shell suburban social housing. Thousands of people live here happily. It's not a flush or smart neighbourhood nor is the pub but there is nothing much wrong with either. The beer selection and the look of the bar is nothing special but more than adequate. If you need to get out of the house or meet friends without traveling then the Falstaff is OK.
