The RWY is a graveyard of independent businesses proving that Plymouth does not have the footfall to justify anything other than a small city centre let alone a large one with 2 or 3 satellite shopping areas such as the RWY and Barbican.

After three years as the only real shop in the RWY and selling very expensive clothing in a city which has a very small affluent sector, the owners have announced that they will not extend their lease and for the foreseeable future their only Plymouth presence will be invite only events at selected venues. It's a pity when the city loses an independent retailer but as others have commented in reviews on here, B & M seemed to have picked the wrong merchandise for the area and isolated themselves in RWY.

One of a kind

A very stylish store offering unusual, luxurious pieces at a range of prices. Jane, the owner, and her staff often encourage me to try on items I wouldn't normally choose and sometimes/ often they are spot on, which is part of the pleasure of visiting an independent store. Always very helpful with sizes but not over attentive. Having read previous reviews, I would just say that of course this kind of quality isn't offered at Primark prices but why would it be. If you want quality, style, unusual pieces then head to Bibi, catch their sale days and you'll do very well too. And the parking really isn't difficult, you just pay on departure with cash or a card. Lovely setting by the water and stop off at the fabulous bakery for a pastry or try one of many eateries in Royal William Yard.

Oh dear, they are now selling furs!
Nov 2015 • Couples
Most of us thought those days had gone but it seems that Plymouth now has just one shop that is selling furs, including maybe some faux fur in the city. If your attitude to the trade is opposite to mine or you are just curious, take a look at the shop's Facebook page.

Good for trendy folk with much cash.

A bit unusual for Plymouth. Not the most convenient place to shop because of the parking drawbacks at RWY. A moderate selection of expensive designer and fashion clothing mostly for women but some for men.some robust outdoor clothing but most of it party and holiday ephemeral for those with high disposable incomes. Well worth a look round and a visit on the first day of any sale.

Parking hassle
Feb 2015 • Solo
Not a bad shop if you could just breeze in and out. Out of the ordinary selection of kit is interesting despite high prices. But being stuck with having to find a space to park, and later work the payment machine which is almost illegible in half bright daylight, makes the whole RWY experience just about inconvenient enough to deter such short visits.

Came on first of four day Plymouth branch sale. Genuine bargains. Bought stuff we couldn't possibly have afforded otherwise.

Top stuff. Not many shops in plymouth or the far south west where you can find this variety and type of clothing. Pity about the parking hassle.

Very good men's clothes.

They sell a modest collection of up market men's clothes alongside much more women's. I quite like the Scotch & Soda range which it's good to see in real life before committing. I have usually bought S&S only from Amazon.

5pm close no good if you work.
Nov 2014 • Couples
The shop website is temporarily down so we couldn't check opening times. Telephoned and told that its 5pm (at least on Wednesdays so presumably every weekday). Not much use for those of us who have to work for a living. That said on my last visit some months ago this was an interesting shop selling clothes I had not seen in the big stores in the more convenient (and longer opening) centre of town.
