Bit quiet.

If you want to drink cider, chat to your mates or other customers and aren’t looking for lively or raucous fun then this is probably OK. There is a wide well selected choice of ciders, reasonably priced. The interior has a sort of rustic downbeat sub fusc feel. Been a long time since we’d been in and it may have been unusually scarcely supported but if not then I wonder how long it can continue. I would like to see it carry on. It’s quite a bit different from other central and Barbican pubs and is a good foil to the Barcode etc.

Old Rosie

A traditional Cider House, all ciders are charged out at £3.70 per pint. I highly recommend the Old Rosie.

Quirky and good.

Lovely old pub. A very friendly landlord, mind I wouldn`t want to upset him. Guess you need that as one cider was 8.4%! I think there is a choice of 40 ciders. Helpfully you can request a sample. Something that I think, as in real ale pubs, is needed. He also keeps a hand pumped beer. The choice of cider is very wide. Highly recommended.

Great atmosphere, staff and ciders!

I went along to the Cider House last night as part of a large group. The staff couldn’t have been more friendly and accommodating to our needs. The range of ciders borders on staggering, as did the knowledge of the bar staff. Lovely atmosphere and it suited the needs of our group nicely for the evening. The only slight downside was there is only one ladies wc and it seemed a bit damp once I got in there. That said, I will happily return again though.

Relax after work

Been working in Plymouth and found this gem of a pub between site and hotel we were staying at, typical back Street local, with a friendly atmosphere, landlord very knowledgeable and passionate about the ciders on offer, we frequented this establishment 3 days on the trot, we tasted and tried several ciders of varying strengths, excellent range!! Clientele very friendly. Thoroughly recommend visiting this establishment.

Excellent ciders, just sort the bread.
Mar 2017 • Friends
Still easily worth coming here just for the wide range of well selected and kept ciders. As previously mentioned but without response or improvement my only disappointment remains the single option snacks. You can have cheese and onion or good ham (plenty of both) stuffed into a large piece of baguette type bread. The let down is that the bread clearly is not fresh so must have been thawed or somehow brought to life. As a consequence the crust is a bit like disintegrating card and just falls apart. These are good alcohol absorbing and hunger dispatching snacks at about £3 but they should be better. Much better. Please give it some thought.
